Resketch of my 2011 design for my justice league piece. I'm not even counting these things anymore. lol.

Ok so the only design changes I made from my 2011 version were to change the collar color, alter the cross shapes on the knee pads and add crossbow bolts strapped to her wrists and the outside of the crossbow holster.

So basically all of this sketch goes right back to what I did in 2011.

In the traditional portrayal, sometimes Huntress wears a cape, sometimes she doesn't... My design never wears a cape... Much like her Birds of Prey teammate Black Canary, my version of Helena has a little rockstar in her style. Let's just say, they have the same stylist. I kept the mask... I love that mask.

The big difference between Huntress and Canary though... Huntress isn't a super. She is just bold, brazen and fearless. She wears a midriff with a leather short jacket because she can. It is a special tank top. As a matter of fact that was the shirt she was was wearing when her world fell apart. She's grown out of it and its been though hell... but she had it sewn right into her costume. Her whole motif is built around that shirt. She holds onto it as a reminder of why she does what she does.

She likes to show off her tattoo anyway. She just isn't worried. This is her street level outfit. This is what she wears to take out the average criminal on a good night. If she knows she is headed for serious battle there would be another version with some armor involved... but it would still very much be in the same vein of thought and that shirt would be pulled over the armor without question.

The short shorts do serve a more purposeful cause. Pants can be sort of restricting for moves that require a high level of flexibility in the groin to mid thigh area. A lot of high kicks and splits are just easier in shorts... well, that or spandex, but this girl is out there kicking ass, not heading to yoga...Spandex isn't the most durable fabric. So she wears hotpants, but she does still cover her legs with heavy duty Stockings held up by some reinforced garters, knee and shin guards and some pretty serious boots.

Oh and yes... those are totally rosary beads in her hand... because c'mon, it's Huntress! Honestly I think that if you look at the DC universe as a whole... Anyone from Gotham is about five times more likely to be Catholic than a character that starts out anywhere else.
