So I edited the picture of my MLP OC Rainflower Skystream , so that I didn't use any bases at all. I just traced a screenshot from the episode "Sonic Rainbow", and changed the face a bit. Rainflower is smiling with her teeth showing, which shows her personality a bit more. Happy, carefree, and excited to try new things. She looks a whole lot better now. No more random parts of bases anymore XD I even traced a cloud and raindrops for her cutie mark. I changed the cloud to white, instead of light blue, and I like it better now. Rainflower is a pegasus who was born at Cloudsdale, but is currently residing in Ponyville. She has a kind of a magic, where she can turn into a dragon or a winged cat at will (it's all Mystery Ruby 's fault). She has four younger sisters (one which is a unicorn name Moonlit Crystal ) and three older brothers. She has a pet "Cloud Cat" (a cat with wings) named Puffy, and she loves animals. Her best friend is a unicorn named Mystery Ruby . She has some other friends named Fuzzy Peach, Silver Melody, Summer Pasta, and Aspen Leaf . She is shy, like fluttershy, but only to ponies she hasn't met yet. She is quite talkative to ponies she knows, and loves to fly fast.SVG: sta.sh/0t1rgabzw71

You do realize that, Even if the colors are different, It's still a recolor, Right?

Actually, instead of recoloring somebody else's vector, I made my own, with a different expression. And only one color is changed, and it's not changed that much. It may not look like it, but I completely redid this.

It's hairstyle is still basicly dash's but recolored.

Her hair really IS rainbow dash's hair color, this is just a recolor of rainbow dash. So please, don't try to make up a cover story for your rainbow dash recolor.
The mane and tail look a TAD bit different, but overall it literally is an RD recolor.

Okay, first of all, why the heck are you viewing some insignificant deviation posted three years ago only to harp on and "shame" me? Where did you find it? I feel honored that one of my most insignificant deviations posted three years ago has caught the attention of random people browsing the web.
Second of all, I COMPLETELY misunderstood what was going on. I thought the deviant above was accusing me of NOT retracing a vector of the same OC from a previous deviation (that deviation was made of with vectors from other deviants that I put together, because I was still experimenting with Inkscape) and not that I was stealing Dash's hair design. I thought "recolor" meant changing the actual colors from my previous deviation, I didn't know he was talking about a recolor of Rainbow Dash.
It is 100% true that I traced this vector from a screenshot of Dash, and I chose Dash because #1 I love pegasi and #2 I loved her mane design and wanted my OC to have it too. I had no idea it would be such an "intolerable offense" to have the same mane style as one of the Mane Six, especially since Daring Do had that exact same manestyle as well.
I was not "trying to make up a cover story for my rainbow dash recolor" I simply loved Dash's mane, and couldn't think of a better one to suit my own OC.
So sure. It technically is a Rainbow Dash recolor. And if I did it again, I'd probably pick a different mane style. But I was just trying to create a cool OC, and didn't think it was outside canon to have two ponies with the same manestyle because Daring Do had it too.

Her hair basically looks almost exactly like dash.
