not sure about "sport", but food and nature management are surely ok.
also, with this frenzy about "natural" and "bio", what's more "natural" and "bio" than hunting?

I agree with this. Humans have survived thousands of years as hunters and gatherers, and while I love animals, I support hunting (not poaching).

The definition of poaching is kinda shaky, there are native groups
in africa who hunt to survive but are labelled poachers anyway.

No animal is just hunted for taxidermy.
Taxidermy furs are 90% of time the bi product of food or population hunting, or both
"Trophy" Killing is often poaching. Which isnt hunting. So
And Warrior cats is a horrible example. Jyst saying,.

A housecat may form bonds, but a wild cat wouldn't give a fuck and would chase the male away.

If it really was evil, I doubt than any human would be alive by now.
Since the cavemen (prehistory or something) that humans are hunting in order to survive. Nowadays, since we're aware that there are other species living among us, we hunt in order to keep the balance intact.
However, they are those who kill endangered species. Those who poach.
I don't know if you've heard about the black rhino being classified as a critically endangered species overall? Apparently a subspecies of it, the western black rhinoceros, has been declared to be extinct by the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) two years ago.
So really, instead of worrying about animals that have a big population, people should worry about those who are in danger :I

Aye. Most people bitch about canines, such as wolves, fixedes and coys, none of which are endangered.
People don't even know nor care for endangered animals. P.mettalic, is almost extinct in the wild but no effort has been made to save them yet there's millions of "Save the wolves even tho they arent endangered" Groups and such

Aye aye...there's many wolves already in the world.
My guess is that they just find wolves ''cute'', which is I think would be why they don't want them to be killed :I

Thank you for making this. It does bother me how certain people believe murder and hunting is the same thing. They obviously aren't aware of legal definitions and that it only applies to a human killing a human. Not a human killing an animal.
These people should pay more attention to the meat industry and see where their meat comes - when they buy some at the supermarket and don't bother to research companies that provide it. I have met people who are super passionate about animal rights but they admit to eating at McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, etc.

Lol at some of the comments, not be disrespectful to anyone..
Killing and murder are two different things honestly, murder is homicide, which isn't exactly related to hunting, but homicide is related to poaching.
Unjustified hunting is wrong, not killing to protect livestock or to survive. Civilized or not, I'm sure more people agree than otherwise. Hunting in an uncontrolled way should be avoided.
Hunting and leaving your prey to bleed to death is illogical, and so is thinking it's abusive by hunting for food. As long as it's properly.
Example: Hunting an elder male deer instead of a younger one and/or female.

Sport hunting isn't just about killing something then going "I did it! "
I'm a sport hunter myself and we always use the animal for good, and not just trophies. With Bucks or Rabbits, I always eat what's edible and I only have a few mounted "trophies" since I didn't want the skin to just be thrown away and forgotten. I even have some antler carvings somewhere, they're very beautiful.

Even though it's called sport hunting those who hunt the animals don't just leave it dead to rot. they usually take the animal (like say a buck) and eat it as wel as say mount the antlers since you can't eat those any way.

''Sport hunting" If often people who hunt for population, and population hunting isn't a bad thing. Alot of people will hunt for fun yes but also for population control. Anyways, the parts of the animal should be used as its often illegal to leave the carcass there

You are very right hunting is not evil. Poaching is evil because poaching is killing the animal for the skin, claws, teeth ect. and leaving behind the meat to rot or leave behind a half alive animal to die slowly. I think hunting for sport is stupid though :/ but that's just me. Good job on this

Of course. In hunting its pretty much illegal to leave a carcass behind. ''Sport hunting" If often people who hunt for population, and population hunting isn't a bad thing

I just think that hunting for sport is stupid. Because sometimes people forget that just killing animals for fun shouldn't be fun. In my point of view, I just think it's stupid, not wrong, just stupid. I've never gone hunting before, but I have killed an animal because I live on a farm that raises chickens and we are going to butcher them soon. Thinning out the population of a species isn't bad, if you thought I was saying that I wasn't and I guess I'm not that against hunting for sport, I just think animals should only be killed for food, and their hide/fur. Notice I said "and" because you should try to use every part of an animal you can

Hunting may save many lives of people who might crash into deer or moose. And put an injured animal out of misery. By hunting we can get rid of overpopulated animals and save fragile ecosystem.

I think killing animals either way is evil. Because those animals out there have no reason to be killed. It think some humans evil to think that they can just walk into a forest and kill an INNOCENT animal. Those animals have no idea what they did to deserve to die. I think that animals are more important than humans. And, how would we feel if we were hunted by a different species? So therefore, hunting is evil.

RealmeNevertobeseen In reply to vocaloidwuver [2013-09-22 23:21:29 +0000 UTC]
Okay. The animals you are talking about don't effing care they know that death is apart of life and that is just you know "the circle of life" and all that. Poaching is what's evil because it's hurting innocent animals without eating the meat which is bad. Poaching is also illegal like it said up there.
Also, if too many animals are around they could go instinct because like the person said yet again, the predators would out number the other animals and eat them all, causing them to starve and die from the lack of food supply.
Hunting helps keep the species thin enough so that they won't all die from hunger or anything like that. I think you're right about a person just walking into a forest and killing an animal for no reason, but only for no reason. If they are going out to kill an animal to survive then I have no problem with it. Whether you like it or not meat is a very important part of a humans diet. it helps them grow and builds muscle, but having too much could just result in getting you fat, but that's true for everything, if you have to much of something, no matter how good and healthy it is for you it'll hurt you if you have to much.
And for your last question, we would we afraid, but we are humans. Humans are different than animals. Humans can think and feel emotions. I'm not saying a animal can't feel emotions, but they can't feel as deeply as a human can because they are animals, not humans. Whether you like it or not, humans and animals are different. No matter what you say, it won't change a damn thing. So calm down person!!!

". Because those animals out there have no reason to be killed"
Say that to the farmers who lose there livestock. There life depends on those animals for money. They can lose there jobs, houses, and family without said animals.
But its alright. Lets not kill the wolf pack that wiped out 70 sheep in one night and ruined someones life, lets let them ruin others lives.
Ever hear of population hunting? here. A way to control the population of certain species that use up too many resources (Ex, preadator killing all the food prey in one area, causing pred to starve when all prey is hunted. If said animals are not hunted, they will wipe out all the prey in one area. Then guess what you get? Hundred of dead wolves, laying there, ribs poking out, there fight with agony finally over. When you kill SOME of these predators, the ecosystem remains in balance. Alot of these predators are invasive species therefore need to be culled.
" It think some humans evil to think that they can just walk into a forest and kill anINNOCENT animal"
They cannot just walk in and kill an animal. Thats illegal. You buy TAGS per animal you hunt. That way to local fish and game can keep check on the population of said animal during hunting season. Where does the money from tags go? Wildlife conservation
"Those animals have no idea what they did to deserve to die."
You realize animals do not have the feelings we do. They know no such things. They know kill or be killed.
Did the hamburger you had last week deserve to die?
"I think that animals are more important than humans"
Humans are animals, therefore we are part of the food chain.
" And, how would we feel if we were hunted by a different species?"
As the apex predator, as of now we have no animal illnesses. But no worry s. Theirs people dying in iraq everyday, so that must make you so happy, because we are getting hunted. By each other
