Merida Neu has gotten a wardrobe change! Much like K'lynn, she too has received some visual updates. This was something BRSstarJV and myself discussed when we were going through Merida's backstory for the reboot/comic. The general consensus was for an attire to make her a bit more casual while still retaining her elegant flair, as well as a design that was much more easier to draw. A few concept arts later, and we settled on the new design for her.

Here's a recap of her current backstory summary:

At 17 years old, Merida is the oldest child of the Neu Family, and was the 1st to be adopted at age 6.
Born from the wealthy Lauren family, Merida lived a pampered, sheltered life until a horrific discovery about her family’s legacy forced her to flee from her home. Hounded by those loyal to her father, Merida would eventually be rescued by Franklin Neu and become the first of many daughters he and Allison Neu would adopt. With nowhere left to go, Merida would dedicate her time to honing her craft and become a master of the sword. All for the sake of one day bringing justice to her corrupt family.
And with that being said, these are some additional information to add on to it:

She is now of mixed ancestry with her father being French, and her mother being Chinese. Her new attire was designed to reflect this new mixed lineage.

Merida's hairstyle is slightly altered in that the two hair streams (not sure what the correct term for those) going down the sides of her head now being significantly shorter.

She still retains her Katana (an artifact which she managed to steal before fleeing from her home), though the Lauren shield may, or may not be retconned. We're still discussing on how to fit it in as her combat attire might be getting a significant change as well.
Anyway, I hope you guys like the new look. I get the feeling, that just like K'lynn, this design isn't gonna be universally loved, but some changes have to occur as we continue to expand The Neu House. If you have any thoughts or suggestions on the design, I'd love to hear them!
