Description
My first paintjob in Sculptris. I did not use any bumpmap at all, it's all geometry (1.3 million poligons).Rendered in Vue 10.

Looks real good Ralf, it just needs eyes done. Good paintjob especially with no bump map, well done.
This is the better of the two rendered IMO.
Good stuff

You are right about the eyes. In fact they have only the painted texture since Sculptris did export just the whole thing with the same material. Would have to edit the poligons of the eye to apply another material ID but I was too lazy last night.
With the other render, I suspect you refer to the one that Sculptris made (with DOF). The materials there will never come out unbiased because of how Sculptris blends them with the base material.

I am always amazed that anyone can create anything detailed in Scultris. I just could not make it work for anything other than...well basically a LUMP

You should keep on editing your lump and soon the lump will transform into something different... or another lump.

I don't know if my computer is so extraordinary?Β
Core2Quad 2.4, 8GB RAM, Windows 7 64bit, AMD 5850 1GB.
I found a neat solution for Sculptris to handle more RAM. Since it is a 32bit software it can be patched to be able to use more RAM (up to 4GB I read) under a 64bit system. Have a lool at this little software-patch.

Worked like a charm for me. I can go farther than 2.5 million poligons for modeling.
In this particular model I reduced the poligon count from 1.9 Million to about 1.3 Million before changing to Paint-Mode. And this change to Paint may take ages, but once it is finished, save the Sculptris-file (with a new name) and you can load it and get right away to Paint Mode.
Ralf.

Yeah, turned out great. I had some worries, that the mesh would be unusable outside of Sculptris because of the high polycount. Apparently Vue didn't mind! Next time I will experiment with Bumpmap.
Thanks for commenting.

Interesting idea. The dragonhead would need a complete body though.
