Description
As we sent our probes further out of the northern forests and onto the rocky coast, we spotted multiple little furry creatures, hopping along the shoreline. They curiously moved and behaved similarly to Rabbits on Earth. The fact that they were of similar size also reinforced this comparison.
However similar they might have appeared on the surface though, they were still Alien organisms. And nothing illustrated that more than the two giant appendages on the sides of their bodies. Although they mostly used them to flip over rocks, in order to feast on the microorganisms stranded in the tide pools, they also packed a serious punch.
We were astonished by the brutality these cute creatures were capable of. As the primary function of their appendages was territorial defense. Whenever one creature stepped into a tide pool of another a fierce boxing match ensued.
These thin little arms were extremely powerful and had a surprisingly long reach. Each punch thrown sounded almost similar to a gunshot and combined with the speed of the combatants, the fight quickly devolved into a blurry mess of fur and splashing water.
These fights were usually really quick however and no serious injuries could be observed afterwards. The loser simply hopped away to try their luck elsewhere and the winner got to keep the tide pool for themselves. Although they usually wouldn’t remain unchallenged for long.
