Description Balefire Liege

Magic the Gathering; Eventide. Β©Wizards of the Coast

Acrylic, Approx 11" x 7.5".

Original artwork for sale; UKΒ£350.

The restless spirit scours the land searching for another victim to consume within its baleful fire.

I chose a warm red palette to echo, and reinforce, the spectral flames of the spirit. To pull the focus onto the beastie I use the lightest values on him, whilst placing the darkest around him on the rocks. This gives a strong contrast with each other, and against the mid range background.

used the same colour as the surrounding area, but kept it a lot lighter, and kept the ghostly highlights the same throughout.
