I think part of the problem is it would be REALLY hard to write a good story without "switching out" at some point. It would be like trying to write a story about Peter Parker going about his daily life without putting on the Spider-Man suit and doing some superheroics.

That could be easily explained away as a cameo. All it's evidence for is that A. K. Yearling knows who Dash is; and you did just point out that she's nationally known.
