It isn't that uncommon for fictional works to be based on the events experienced by their authors (with some even bordering on autobiographical, such as Eugene O'Neill's "Long Day's Journey Into Night"). Is "Daring Do" simply another time this happened or something?

Well, if it's true that she actually did visit these ancient temples and recover treasures Indiana Jones style and she merely based the Daring Do character on herself (which is what I think this comic implies), that has to be a pretty big secret to keep and she may have some reason not to reveal that these novels ARE autobiographical fiction...

Perhaps a good autobiography for her would be about what inspired her to go on Indiana Jones-style archaeology quests as well as what inspired her to fictionalize her experiences.

Well, autobiographical fictional works do contain elements that parallel those of their authors to that fine of a detail. Another example is the names of the characters in the aforementioned O'Neill play. The only changes from the names of his actual family he made were switching his name for one of the others and changing the surname to Tyrone.
