It walks on one side, until it gets tired, then tosses around and uses the other side, while the previous used one rests. The mentioned hare did the same. Although the hare had only its legs dublicated, not the whole lower half. The second mouth is probably a spare mouth, too.

Which it is, but the middle jaw is just one piece with dentition on both sides and two mouths on either side. Yes, it's absurd, but this creature wasn't made to be plausible.

I see! I was wondering whether it was meant to be a tetragnathe monoesophagist or trignathe diesophagist! but this critter shows that implausible is cool and entertaining! It certainly fullfills its purpose!
