Description Full View for tutorial

Basically I decided to make a tutorial for who got me photoshop CS2! Thank you SO MUCH. But you don't need that program to use this tutorial. Really, it can be used in any program from photoshop 5-CS2. You can easily adapt it to other programs too if you need it. Anyway, I hope you find this useful. I didn't want to give away the final picture completely, which will be posted soon

Enjoy

EDIT: I forgot to give it to you If you want to use my original sketch, [link] here it is for you

Hey, I found this very helpful, but I wanted to ask if you could explain in more detail the step where you add "dramatic lighting" by duplicating the layer, applying the blur, and layering it over the original on screen...I mean, I understand the steps, but what does it do? I'm having trouble seeing the difference between the images, but then again, I'm not sure what I'm looking for. Thanks!

Great tut. though.

Very cool step by step. And it's true, you can do this in any type of program! You just have to use your brain and adapt to the different layouts and whatnot. This is a good painting/layering tutorial, so you just killed two birds with one stone. Congrats, definate favorite!

this makes absolutely no sense to me. when you make a tutorial.. assume the person knows nothing about the program and it is their first day using Photoshop CS. fir instance.. me.

wow,...thats a REALLY helpful tutorial (cause i've seen a lot...since i stink at digital paintings...) one question, it's nice and all to put the shades on...but how do you BLEND them properly into each other? (thats the one thing that i've seen every tutorial lack..and the one thing i need ;_; ...) but still yours is a lot more helpful then some of the other ones i've seen!!
