I liked that word which I first read in an article by a psychologist. It describes people who enjoy thinking of others as bad, greedy, and stupid, who consider any enterprise to be pointless, and striving for something as doomed to fail, and think greatness is unachievable - "nothing ever changes". However, any and all people really do have such incredible potential that thinking this darkly is entirely unnecessary.

70×50cm acrylics, coloured pencils, and collage on paper. It's one of my largest paintings in years (and also took me, I think, three years to muster up the courage to finally do it), and features tiny bits of collage for the butterflies of paper as well as small bits of acrylic pourings I collected during my experiments with that technique.

Mir gefiel der Ausdruck den ich als erstes im Artikel eines Psychologen und Coach gelesen hatte; er beschreibt Mitmenschen die sich daran ergötzen wenn das Schlimmste passiert und sich in ihrer finsteren Weltsicht bestätigt finden – alle Menschen sind schlecht, gierig und dumm, Unternehmungen lohnen sich nicht, Streben ist zum Scheitern verurteilt, Größe unerreichbar; “Nichts ändert sich”. Dabei haben wirklich alle Menschen in sich so enormes Potenzial, dass sich das Leben so schlecht zu reden außerordentlich unnötig ist.

Es ist das größte Bild das ich seit langer Zeit gemalt habe (und ich habe fast drei Jahre gebraucht um endlich den Mut zusammen zu kratzen es überhaupt anzufangen). Bestandteil sind unter anderem kleine farbige Papierstückchen und Spritzer von Acryl-Pourings die ich gesammelt habe als ich mit der Technik experimentierte.
