man.. this is agrivating. speed painting, meaning fast right? yet it has such incredible presence and movement that i can see in my head the continuation of the mecha's step and the foot soldiers scrambling to keep up.
how come i can't accomplish this kind of image even if spend all day on it? what's your secret?

im trying to decide wether the black splintered looking trees have recently been burned and smoke is still rolling at their feet, or if it has recently rained or if the mist is early morning fog... the ground looks wet and dark and swampy. the mechs remind me alot of a game called Ring of Red, wherein the walking tanks are steam powered, slow and sluggish, and supported with troops. i love black and white, and a dark scene like this would be fun to rub onto a canvas with thick soft lead or even charcoal or neutral colored chalks.

Rhe sketchy quality kinda gives the mechs an organic feel, great lighting too.
