Or would you take it upon yourself
To rip apart your face
Just to pour acid on the wound
And hand you a few Band-Aids?"

The deed was done, or so she thought
With the slightest twinge of regret
Although she knew that otherwise,
Their star-crossed fate was set
But truth be told, she needed him
And felt it was her right
She swore that everything they'd killed,
She'd bring back that night

And so she sutured up the wounds
To see what she could recover
And with each passing stitch, she found
She had a zombie lover
Once, he claimed he needed space,
But now he was her slave
Or at least as much as was allowed
From beyond the grave

"So, how does it feel to need me now?!"
She inquired into the night
But all he could respond was, "Blehhgh!"
And she knew that he was right
"You always had a way with words
I couldn't quite comprehend.
And even in this awkward state,
Somehow, you're right again."

She knew in her heart what must be done
As he stood there stupified
For as long as she was still around,
He couldn't be revived
She gave herself the toxic powder
And so their roles reversed
He awoke from his zombie spell
And she'd given herself her own curse

When she came to, she realized
He must have quite a delectable head
While pouncing on him, she mumbled, "Brains!"
And he fell over, undead
He had returned to his previous state
And everything really was okay again!
Because if torture's the purest form of love,
They'd be together until the end...
