Description [F/n] - first name
[H/c] - hair color, [E/c] - eye color, [F/c] - favorite color       [F/n] had tried to be a good person.  She knew with her sickness, her parents were constantly under stress.  That's why they were always snapping at her.  That's the only reason.  They were worried about her, that's why they locked her up.  All their money went into protecting her and getting her medication.  That's why the bars were on the windows.  They were trying to protect her.  So... why had they leave the door open that night?  Did [F/n] do something wrong?
[F/n] could feel tears in her eyes at the thought.  She was already a burden, she didn't want her parents to be bothered with her anymore.  So, [F/n] did the only thing she could think of.  She obeyed the underlying message, and went out the door.  After grabbing the last of her medication bottles, of course.  She didn't know where she was going, but she knew her parents were sick of her.  Why else would they leave the door open?  [F/n] knew it was her fault, the stinging in her face was proof of that.  She asked too many questions again, father had gotten angry.  Mother left the door open.  [F/n] was just trying to be a good person.
[F/n] wanderings of the outside world lead her to a mountain.  She could always see the mountain from her window.  Everything was weird up close.  [F/n] vaguely remembered her Nanny calling these weird things in the ground "trees."  Whatever that meant.  But, [F/n] might have been a nice person (or at least trying to be), but she wasn't exactly aware of her surroundings.  Her entire life was inside her bedroom, after all, why should she pay attention to where she was going--annnnd, she fell down a hole.

[F/n] didn't know how to react to anything right now.  She was scared.  A talking... what was it called?  Oh, right, It called itself Flowey the Flower, Flowey had attacked [F/n].  He said he wanted to be friends, why wouldn't [F/n] trust him?  The outside world couldn't be that mean, could it?  Well, her "HP" being sent down to one was answer enough for that.  Flowey had attacked her after pulling out her soul, which was a vibrant shade of green, it was so pretty.  This actually saddened [F/n], for her mother had told her that she wasn't pretty at all.  The soul should belong to someone just as beautiful as it, and [F/n] knew she didn't live up to those standard.
A goat woman saved her from the talking "flower."  [F/n] was still scared, but she listened to this goat woman.  Toriel.  [F/n] giggled.  When Toriel had asked what was funny, [F/n] asked if she had a twin.  Toriel denied this, and asked why.  [F/n] responded with finger guns and saying "Because that would mean I would have tutorials!"  The goat woman had laughed.  [F/n] was surprised.  Her mother would get angry at her for joking like that.  This made [F/n] smile.  Toriel seemed nice.  Maybe [F/n] could learn from her.
And thus, Toriel had begun calling her "my child," [F/n], in return, began calling her "mom."  Toriel was ecstatic of this.  On their way back to Toriel's home, [F/n] had tripped over a creature calling itself "Froggit."  Toriel wasn't too happy about this, but spotted [F/n]'s meds, and asked about them.  [F/n] explained that she was sick, and that the pills helped her survive.  [F/n] could practically see Toriel's mothering instincts intensify at this.  Toriel promised [F/n] that she would protect her, as long as she stayed with her in the ruins.  And [F/n] felt... safe.

It was strange adapting to the "Ruins."  Of course, [F/n] wasn't used to the outside world to begin with.  But what threw her off was that Toriel actually GAVE her permission to LEAVE her bedroom!  [F/n] was so happy!  She was allowed to leave her bedroom!  She never had so much freedom before!  She especially loved helping her new mother cook, which lead to [F/n] constantly carrying around her frying pan.  Toriel even made [F/n] her own apron, that she usually refused to take off.
[F/n] made a friend.  His name is Napstablook, [F/n] had nicknamed him "Blooky."  She loved listening to his music.  He was a depressed little ghost, but always seemed a bit happier when [F/n] praised his music.  Of course, he would get embarrassed when [F/n] would point finger guns at him and say "Glad you're keeping in good spirits!" or something in that matter.  [F/n] always loved puns.  Her Nanny used to always joke with her.  In fact, [F/n] always saw a resemblance to her Nanny and Toriel, maybe that's why she liked her so much.  They both loved puns, they both loved cooking and baking, and her Nanny loved escargot, Toriel apparently loved snail pie.  [F/n] made a note to make escargot with Toriel one day.  That day was not today, though.

Today was boring.  Goat Mom had gone to get groceries, and [F/n] wasn't feeling well.  Waking up in a coughing fit, her HP draining whenever this happened.  However, it quickly healed when [F/n] took her pills.  She was down to her last three bottles, this worried [F/n], unsure of how to get more in the Underground.  It was affecting her soul, though.  Her soul seemed to shimmer less and less, the glow dimming with each pill taken.  A small crack had formed on it.  [F/n] chuckled.  It was breaking, just like her.
[F/n] had decided to roam around the house.  Funny enough, she only roamed the ruins for the most part, and never really bothered to look around her new home.  Yet the stairs leading to a lower level always enticed her.  So, of course, she decided to wander down there.
It was a long hallway leading to a door.  [F/n] huffed, there was no way someone as sickly as herself could open this giant door!...  However, it would make a good area to practice her knock knock jokes!  With a large smile, [F/n] reached to knock the door.  But someone beat her to the punch.
"Knock, knock." A bodiless voice called from the other side.  [F/n] brightened up.  Someone who does knock knock jokes?  Well, she shouldn't just leave them hanging!
"Who's there?" [F/n] giggled, and then coughed a bit.  Ew, this time it had a small splash of blood.  Not good.
There was a moment of silence.  [F/n] waited patiently, figuring they were just surprised with someone answering.  [F/n] giggled again, imagining the look on their face (imagining a Froggit of course).
"Dishes." the voice finally answered.  [F/n] grinned.
      "Dishes who~"
      "Dishes a very bad joke."
[F/n] burst into a fit of laughter.
"Heh, ya like that one?  Well, I got a ton more.  A skele-ton."
Why did that sound like another pun?  The way he emphasized it.  [F/n] shrugged.  She met a talking "flower," a goat woman, a ghost, and lord knows how many Froggits, would it really be a stretch to think a skeleton existed?
"That so?  Well, knock yourself out." [F/n] snickered.  She could hear a faint laugh, and her soul felt warm when she heard it.
"That joke really rings a bell."
"What can I say?  I just a door knock knock jokes."
"Oh, a punny one are ya?  That's puntastic."
"[F/n]?  Where are you, my child?" [Y/n] heard Goat Mom call from upstairs.  [F/n] sighed.  She didn't want to go.
"Sorry to cut this short, disembodied voice, but I gotta run."
"What?  Ya sayin I wasn't talking to the door?"
[F/n] laughed so hard at that she started coughing again.  Her soul lurched, that was actually painful.
"Oi, you okay back there?  Didn't mean to hurt you with my sick jokes."
"Heh, I'm fine, Doc.  I'm just... not the healthiest person in the Underground-"
      "[F/n]!?"
"G-gotta run, uh, talk to you later?"
      "... Yeah."
[F/n] smiled and ran upstairs.  Toriel was livid, apparently afraid that she had found a way to leave the ruins.  [F/n] merely questioned her as to why she would ever want to leave.  For living with Toriel was much nicer than living with her biologicals.  Toriel had started crying at this, [F/n], worried that she had upset her, hugged Toriel tightly and apologized over and over again.  Begging her not to be sad anymore, telling her to "You're tearing me apart with your crying!"  Toriel merely laughed, stating that they were happy tears.  That no more children would die.  [F/n]'s soul lurched, she chose not to question that last sentence, and suggested that they made cinnamon butterscotch pie.  Toriel quickly agreed.

[F/n] felt worse than ever.  Her head was pounding, and her soul had more and more cracks in it.  It was falling apart.  The only time it ever shone anymore was when she snuck downstairs.  [F/n]'s HP was forever at a dangerously low area.  If she was in a Pokemon game, that obnoxious beeping noise would be ringing in her ears.  Huh, maybe that's why her head was pounding.
But never the less, [F/n] shakily made her way down the stairs to her favorite door.  Her soul making a poor attempt at glowing.  She couldn't stand much longer, so she decided to lean against the door, and slid to the ground.  She closed her eyes and payed attention to her breathing, and the beating of her heart.  He should be here soon.  For some reason, [F/n] could always feel when he was there.  Her soul always glowing its brightest when he was there.  Some of the cracks even faded when this happened.  Yet [F/n] didn't even know this persons name.
"Knock knock." [F/n] said hoarsely when she saw her Soul glow brighter.
"Heh, who's there?" The nameless voice answered.
      "Howard."
      "Howard who?"
"Howard I know?  The door is blocking my view."
The voice let out a hearty laugh.  [F/n] smiled, she always loved to hear that laugh.
"... Well, I might not be able to open the door, but I can at least give a name, huh?"
[F/n] snorted.  "No, the door will cover my ears and make sure we never know who the other person is."
"Hah, I heard of Gatekeepers, but this is ridiculous."
"Yeah, the gate likes to keep friends apart."
      "Sans."
      "Huh?"
      "My name.  Sans the Skeleton."
      "That's a sansational name."
"... Did you just use me as a punchline?" [F/n] could hear the grin.
"Are you telling me no one has ever made that joke?"
"I seem to be the only one with a sense of humor out here."
"That's pretty humerus, if I say so myself Mr. Skeleman."
Sans laughed again.  "Alright, alright.  I don't think I caught your name, Miss. Door."
"Didn't throw it." [F/n] started coughing again, more blood.  Her soul lurched harder than ever before, making [F/n] feel queasy.  She heard a faint noise on the door, as if someone slammed their palms against it.  Trying to grip it.
"Are you alright!?  Your soul just tightened!" He sounded... worried?"
"I'm fine, I'm a sickly kid, remem-... wait... how'd you know my soul lurched?"
"... I, uh... can feel your souls presence..."
"Heh, well, that's fair.  My soul always seems to brighten when you're around."
"... Really?" He sounded embarrassed.  How cute.
      "Yeah.  Uh, anyways.  I'm [F/n]."
"Well, [F/n] Coughs-a-lot, glad to know the name of the pun loving knocker." Sans chuckled.  [F/n] smiled and put her hand on the door, trying to stand up.  She froze, however, when she felt warm on the door.  The door was usually frigid.  But, not that spot.  [F/n] curled her fingers a bit, as if trying to grip the warmth.  She felt movement on the other end.  Did Sans have his hand on the door, as well?
      "... Hey, Sans?"
      "...Yeah?"
"What does the outside look like?"
      "You mean you don't know?"
Instinctively, [F/n] shook her head.  "I've... never really been outside.  Due to my illness, I've been sort of... house arrested into staying in my room.  My room for the longest time was like my own personal prison.  But, my new Mom lets me leave the bedroom, so that's something.  I just can't leave the ruins now-"
"One prison into another." Sans sounded... angry.
      "S-Sans?"
      "... It's snowing."
      "Snow?"
"You do know what it is, right?"
"No.  I didn't even know what a flower was until a few weeks ago."
"... It's, um... fluffy.  Sort of.  It's really cold, but the breeze goes right through me."
[F/n] giggled.  "... Can you describe it more?"
"It's like a blanket of white covering the ground and tree branches.  Coming down in small puffs, if you manage to catch one and look closely, every snowflake is different.  But from a distance they just look like small white lint falling from above."
"How can it snow if we're underground?"
"... Uh... Magic?" He sounded so confident in that answer.  "Uh, anyways.  Then there's the lakes-"
      "Lakes?"
"... Small bodies of water in the ground.  It's like a natural bath for nature.  The lakes are frozen over, covered in ice.  Which is solid water.  It's like cold glass, and it's really fun to skate on."
      "Skate?"
"... Um, glide on top of?  You don't really walk on it, you'd fall flat on your tailbone if ya did.  Speaking of which, what type of monster are you?"
[F/n] frowned.  She dreaded that question.  Blooky explained to her why Toriel said no more deaths.  If she told Sans she was human, would he try to kill her?  [Y/n]'s heart tightened again.  She felt like throwing up.
      "[F/N]!?"
"S-sorry, Sans...  um... I-I just... I don't want you to hate me..." [F/n] choked out, feeling the familiar stinging of fresh tears.
"... I can't hate you.  No matter what you are.  I... um... really love--talking!  Talking to you.  Heh...  I've never met another creature that loves puns and knock knock jokes as much as I do.  You're one in a trillion, kid."
[F/n]'s soul fluttered.  It didn't make her feel sick, but something else, she couldn't put her finger on it.  "... Promise me you won't hate me?"
      "... I don't like making promises... but... guess you're an exception.  I promise I won't hate you."
      [F/n] gave a weak smile.  "I'm a human..."
There was a long silence.  [F/n] felt her soul tighten.  Too tight, TOO TIGHT!  It felt like she was suffocating.  And this time, she did hurl.  Specks of blood mixed with her cinnamon butterscotch pie.  Gross.
"[F-F/N]!?  I-I'm sorry, that was... that's just shocking to hear."
"... You hate me." [F/n] choked.
      "I do not!"
"YES YOU DO!" [F/n] cried.  She shouldn't have told him.  She should have said she was a goat monster, like Toriel.  Without a second thought, [F/n] forced herself off the ground and shakily ran upstairs, tripping multiple times.  The further away from the door, the more her soul ached.  It cracked.  Not a normal crack, it looked chipped.
"My child, I'm hom-[F/n]!  What's wrong, my child?" Toriel rushed over to [F/n], ensnaring her in a tight bear hug (or a goat hug, if you want to go the punny way). [F/n] couldn't responded, her sobbing wouldn't allow it.  She didn't understand why it hurt so much.  But she didn't like it, so she hugged Toriel tightly.  Toriel and Blooky, the only two monsters who don't hate her.

[F/n] didn't take her pill the next morning.  She said she did, it hurt to lie to Goat Mom, but she didn't want to.  Why should she?  There were only two people on this planet that didn't hate her (Froggit didn't seem to mind her, but they never understood what the other said).  The world would be better off without her.  Blooky would stop by and lay down next to her, saying that they could partake in a family tradition.  Whenever this happened, [F/n] ended up on the trippiest vision she ever had.  It made her dizzy.  Her soul ached.  Whenever she let it out, it would tug her to go downstairs.  But she wouldn't.  Whenever she was near those stairs, he would be there.  Did he even leave?  [F/n] didn't know.  He was probably waiting for the door to open, to kill her.  Why did they want to kill her?  [F/n] tried to be nice.  She wanted everyone to be happy.

Sans was leaning against the door.  He refused to move.  He hadn't moved since [F/n] ran off.  He felt her soul try to tug her back, but she refused.  He hurt her.  He hurt her, he hurt her, he hurt her.  That's the only thing that was going through his skull.  He promised her, did he break the promise?  [F/n] thought he did.  He could feel it.  He wanted her to come back down, he wanted to apologize.  He wanted her soul to stop tightening.  He could feel her getting weaker and weaker.  He tried to avoid asking her about it.  But, it hurt him to know she was in pain.
"SANS!" he heard his brother yelling for him.  He didn't respond, he didn't move.  "Sans?  Come on, you lazy bones, Alphys informed me that you haven't moved from this spot since YESTERDAY!"
Sans sat still.  He didn't respond.  When Papyrus tried to pick him up, Sans pushed him away.  That changed Papyrus's facial (skull?) expression.  It changed from slightly irritated, to extremely worried.
He's not making one of his terrible puns.  Something's not right.  "... Sans?"
      "... I messed up, bro."
"Do not worry, Sans!  Whatever you did, you shall be forgiven!"
      Sans doubted it.
"Um, Sans?...  Why are you leaning against a door?"
"There's... a person behind this door.  She can't leave...  she's... sick."
"Is... is she going to be alright?" Heh, adorable little Papyrus.  Not knowing who this person is, but still worried about their wellbeing.
"I don't know.  I said the wrong thing at the wrong time," that thing being nothing, "she hates me."
"Oh... well," Papyrus tried to push the door, "How do you, erk, open this thing?"
      "From the inside."
      "Oh...."
      "Yeah..."

"S-so, Asgore needs human souls to open the barrier, freeing all the monsters." Napstablook explained nervously.  [F/n] had demanded an explanation.  Of course she asked nicely, but firmly.  She didn't want to hurt his feelings.
"... So... literally all of monster kind wants me dead."
      "N-no!  I don't... and neither does Toriel..."
Mother was right. [F/n] thought with teary eyes.  People are better off without me.  If I give my soul... they can all be free.  Well, might as well.
"Thank you, Blooky.  Have a nice day." [F/n] whispered as she began her walk back home.  If she gave her soul, that means the monsters could be free.  Right?  If she gave up willingly, Sans wouldn't hate her anymore.  Blooky could be free!  But, Toriel didn't want her to die.  [F/n] smiled sadly, another crack shaking her soul.  Everyone would be better off without her.
It's like what Nanny used to say.  "It's always the broken souls who are always trying to help others." [F/n] thought as she held her soul close.  It was definitely broken.  It's vibrant green had dulled.  Amusingly to [F/n], it resembled a puke green.  Disgusting.  Sorry, Toriel.

Sans sat slumped at his post.  He had moved it closer to the door, in case she decided to escape.  Decided she wanted to see the snow for herself.  Decided... too see him.
Don't kid yourself, Sans. Sans scoffed, taking another swig of Grillby's "special" ketchup.  Why would she want to see YOU?
"Wow... it really is cold to the bone." Sans heard a familiar voice whisper.  A familiar voice that had his own soul jolt to attention.  A voice that was owned by the loveliest laugh he ever heard.
[F/n]? Sans thought, jumping off of his seat.  A human was walking across the bridge.  She was wearing a worn out looking apron over her light [f/c] sweater and ripped jeans, and for some reason was carrying a frying pan.  Her [h/c] hair fluttering around with the snowy wind, and her beautiful [e/c] eyes staring at everything with awe.  As if this was the first time she ever saw it.  Oh wait.
"O-oh.  Hello?" [F/n] suddenly acknowledged Sans existence.  Sans was shaking.  Did she not know it was him?  How many skeletons did she think existed down here?
"... Kn-knock knock." Sans choked out.  He could tell by the way her eyes widened that she recognized him.  She quickly looked away.
      "... Who... who's there?"
      "Norma Lee."
      "Norma Lee who?"
"Norma Lee I'm not that stupid.  I'm sorry if I hurt ya." Sans said weakly.  So that wasn't one of his best jokes, but hey, he just wanted [F/n] to know he regretted what he did.  Er, didn't do.
      "... Knock knock."
      "Who's there?"
      "Donut."
      "Donut who?"
"Donut apologize when I'm the problem." [F/n] coughed.  More blood than usual.  Probably because she didn't take her pills for three days now.  Oh well.  It'll all be over soon.
      "You didn't do anything."
      "Neither did you."
"That's the problem!" Sans snapped, his eye glowing.  "I don't care if yer human or not, I said what I meant and I meant what I said!  I made your soul ache because you thought my silence was a rejection!"
"... You really don't hate me?"
"No.  I told you, I can't hate you."
Sans suddenly felt very warm.  [F/n] had wrapped him in a tight hug.  She was crying.  He didn't like that.  His eye shone brighter as he hurriedly kept apologizing, trying to get her to stop crying.
Heh, so this is what Toriel felt like. [F/n] wiped away her tears, smiling. "Don't worry, Sansy.  These are happy tears."
She felt her soul warm up again.  Well, that's one thing keeping her from freezing over in this weather.  That, and Sans's giant grin plastered on his skull.
"Well, that's tearific to hear, sweetheart."
"Tibia honest, thought you'd have a bone to pick with me since I'm human."
"I'm patelling you, sweetheart, I don't care who or what you are."
"Guess it finally got through to my thick skull."
Welp, that's it, Sans broke down into a laughing fit.  [F/n] following suit.  The two continuously exchanging puns as Sans showed her around.  Well, when [F/n] wasn't distracted by the dogs.  Lesser dog especially, he practically had to tear her away from him.  [F/n] seemed to be enjoying all these new sights, but Sans began to worry when her skin started to change color.
      "[F/n]?  You feeling okay?"
"Yeah, just a lil cold--what are you doing?" Sans had draped his jacket around her.  [F/n] flushed and tried to hide her face in the fluff.  Making Sans worry even more.  She kept changing color!
"Your nose, and now your cheeks, are red!"
"O-oh... I-I think that's fine, as long as my lips aren't blue."
      "... What's wrong with blue?"
"I r-read one of my fathers books before.  From what I remember, blue means you have hypothermia.  Which means you're pretty much becoming a human icicle-YIPES!"
Sans had picked her up, and was now carrying her somewhere.  His eye sockets were blank.  Aside from a faint blue flame coming from one of them.
      "S-Sans?"
"You can die from being to cold?"
"Y-yeah.  Humans are sensitive.  Especially if you're as sick as I am-" and as if on cue, [F/n] started another coughing fit.  Worse than before.  More blood than usual.  As much blood as you'd get if you fell off your bike onto tar.  That's not good.  And Sans was freaking out even more.
"Hold on tight, close your eyes."

[F/n] puked.  Harshly, she could barely breathe from how much was coming out.  Mostly blood at this point, since her stomach was officially emptied.  Sans was freaking out, babying her more than Toriel did.  [F/n] soul felt warm when he was close to her, warm like a fireplace.  But, it would keep lurching, making her puke more.  It took an entire hour and a half before [F/n]'s stomach and Soul finally settled down.  She lay exhausted on Sans's couch.  Well, sort of.  She was leaning against a very protective Sans, who was wrapped around her.  And had wrapped her into a blanket burrito.
"... [F/n]?  Can I ask you something personal?"
      "Mmhmm."
"Can... can I see your Soul?"
      "... Okay."
Sans's eye sockets practically lit up the moment she gave her approval.  Pulling the soul out, Sans was both in awe and worried.  The cracks were scattered.  Long and short, deep and shallow, it frightened Sans to see the state of it.  And yet... the way it shone.  A vibrant shade of green.  It was truly beautiful.  Sans reached out to touch it.  It almost looked like it was flinching away, but when he finally touched the glowing Soul, it felt like it was leaning into him.  Sans felt his own Soul flutter.
[F/n] smiled weakly at the scene.  She felt tired.  So, she closed her eyes, focused on her breathing, and focused on the warmth of her Soul in Sans's hands, and fell into a peaceful sleep.  To bad this wasn't going to last.

[F/n] had met Papyrus the next morning.  He seemed thrilled to see a human, and seemed slightly shocked that, and I quote, "My lazybones brother managed to capture a human!"  [F/n] couldn't resist.  It was so obvious, she couldn't hold it in.  She snapped her signature finger guns, and had a shit eating grin on her face.
"So... you could say your verte-bro exceeded your expectations?"
"..." Papyrus's eye socket twitched.  Sans's grin was as wide as [F/n]'s.  Then it happened.  Papryus screeching and stomping his foot.  It was a magnificent sight.  "SANS!  LOOK AT WHAT YOU'VE DONE, YOU HAVE ALREADY TAINTED THE HUMAN WITH YOUR TERRIBLE PUNS!"
      "Sorry bro."
      "YOU ARE NOT!"
"So, puns don't tickle your funny bone?" [F/n] couldn't stop herself.
      "NNNNNYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEHHHHHHHH!!!"
That day, [F/n] went through Papyrus's... "puzzles."  Sans had mentioned it would make him happy.  [F/n]'s heart shone brightly when she heard that.  She loved when people were happy!  So, [F/n] played along, praising Papyrus and his "ingenious puzzle skills."  And of course his "master spaghetti chef skills."  [F/n] even bought him a chef hat.  Sans had disappeared somewhere, something about his job.  [F/n] smiled sadly.  It would be better off this way.  They'd be happier when freed.  He'd be happy.
      "... Papyrus?"
      "Yes, Sans's Human?"
[F/n] blushed.  Okay, her request could wait.  "Why do you call me that?  You've been calling me that all day."
"Nyeh hehehe!  You think you can trick me?  Nyehehe, do not be shy human, for I, thee GREAT Papryus, can see right through you and my brothers embarrassment!"
      "... What?"
"You are drenched in my brothers scent!  He even insisted that you wear his coat!  It is obvious as to what is going on!  The great Papyrus can see right through it!"
      "I-I don't follow..."
"Nyeheh?  You truly do not know?  GAH!  My lazybone brother never bothered to explain monster culture to his girlfriend, how irrespon-"
      "G-GIRLFRIEND!?"
"Yes, dear human!  You are the one from behind the door, are you not?  Sans was full of dread thinking he had upset you!  You mean so much to him, he wanted to court you the right way!  And he never bothered to explain it!"
      "C-Court?"
"CORRECT!  By leaving his scent on you, i.e. by letting you wear his jacket, it tells other monster bachelors, or bachelorettes, to back off because you have already been chosen!"
"O-oh..." [F/n]'s face couldn't get any redder.  Okay, maybe it could, but it doesn't mean that was any less embarrassing.
"Nyehehe, do not be shy, Human!  For you and Sans share the same love of terrible puns!  You have plenty in common--wait... you're shyness... it must be because... YOU ARE AFRAID I WOULD NOT ACCEPT YOUR RELATIONSHIP!"
      "U-um..."
"Well, fear not, dear Human!  I, thee GREAT Papyrus, give his fullest permission and approval of your relationship with my dear brother!" Papyrus was just... too cute.  His eyes practically had stars in them.  He was so happy.  [F/n] couldn't just destroy his idea of what was going on.  Sans probably just wanted to make sure [F/n] didn't freeze.  Oh well.
"Heh, you're sharp as a spear, Papy.  You caught me.  Sans has been courting me..."
"Nyeh HEH!  I knew it!  We shall celebrate with my best spaghetti dish--AGH!  Wait, Sans didn't do the dishes last night!  AGH!  HOW CAN WE CELEBRATE IF I CAN'T MAKE THE SPAGHETTI--"
"... You can use my pan?" [F/n] held up the pan she had been carrying around.  Just as a memorial piece of Toriel...  heh, memorial, Toriel.  Rhyming~
"YOU ARE TOO KIND, DEAR HUMAN!" Papyrus was squishing [F/n] in a death hug.  He was such a precious guy.
      "Um... one thing, though, Papy...."
      "Yes, human?"
      "... T-take me to Asgore."

The thought of freeing all the monsters filled [F/n]'s soul with kindness.  She always wanted to be helpful.  But she never could.  Her parents hated when she joked around, and called her a nuisance.  Nanny died a long time ago, because [F/n] wasn't helpful enough and didn't know CPR.  Toriel was so nice to her, and Blooky always came back so he had to have liked her... right?  [F/n] wanted them to be free.  She... she wanted Sans to be free.  [F/n] thought back to one of their conversations.  While he was showing her around, after he pulled her away from petting Lesser Dog.
"Hey sweetheart?" Sans had asked.  [F/n] had blushed at the nickname he insisted on calling her.
      "Yeah, Sansy?"
"Do you know what the night sky looks like?"
[F/n] shook her head sadly.  "My human parents... didn't like me going outside.  I... I had bars on my windows.  And at night, when I was plugged in, Father would close the curtains to the window.  I never knew what the night sky looked like.  Why?"
      "... Plugged in?"
[F/n] coughed up more blood.  Still hadn't taken those pills, she hated those pills anyways.  "... Like I said, I've always been sickly.  At night, my human parents would strap me to my bed and put some tubes in me.  Not exactly sure what they had put in me, all I know is that I quickly passed out when they did it."
"..." Sans didn't look happy, he looked pissed.  But he dropped that subject anyways.  "So... neither of us have seen the stars?"
[F/n] smiled sadly.  "My Nanny had a book.  Constellations, they're patterns that stars make in the sky at night.  I always wanted to see the constellations.  The way Nanny described them sounded so pretty.  There were even stories to the constellations!"
"Really?" Sans looked hooked on this conversation.
"Yup!  Um... I can tell you about them sometime?"
The giant smile Sans gave her warmed [F/n]'s entire being.  Heart and Soul included.  He was so precious to her.  [F/n] wanted him to see the stars.  He would see the stars, [F/n] vowed.
"H-human?...  [F/n]?  Are... are you sure about this?"
[F/n] nodded, giving him her frying pan.  "I want you to have it!  You're a better cook than I am!"
It might have been a lie, but the way he glowed from the compliment made it worth it.  He quickly ran off, promising her the best spaghetti ever when she got back... [F/n]'s soul ached.  When she got back...
[F/n] felt tears roll down her face as she entered the castle.  She had written a note and put it in Sans's jacket pocket.  If Asgore was as nice as Papyrus said, then he'd get it back to Sans.  Her Sans...
"H-hello?" [F/n] called out as she entered a room.  Yellow flowers were growing there.  She flinched, remembering Flowey.  A giant goat man stood in the center of the room, flowering them, humming.  "Asgore?...  King Asgore?"
The monster turned, stunned.  "O-oh, a human?"
[F/n] allowed her soul to appear.  It ached.  The pain made [F/n] cry more.  Asgore looked very concerned.  Heh, guess he was a nice guy.
      "Human... what are you-"
"I-I was told... you... you needed human souls... to escape." [F/n] sobbed, putting on her best smile.  "I know what it's like to want to be free... I know what it's like... being locked away from the world above.  I... I made friends here.  I want them to be free.  I want... I want him to see the stars."
Asgore approached her, nervously taking the heart.  "Human... are... are you s-"
"I... ran out of pills." [F/n] sobbed.  "I'm going to die, one way or the other.  I... I don't have the heart to tell them.  If... if my Soul can be of use... to be used for their freedom.  Then please, take it."
Asgore wasn't smiling.  Instead, he leaned down and hugged her.  He could smell the Judge on her.  "... He won't be happy to see you go."
"... He'll be happy to see the world above.  To see the constellations." [F/n] pushed Asgore away, her bright smile contradicting her tears.  "Like I said, I'm sick.  I won't live for long.  Either way, he's going to lose more... at least this way, I'll be of some use."
      "...  Thank you... kind human."
      And everything went black.

Sans was slouched at his usual spot.  Grillby's watched his friend, worried.  He hadn't moved from that spot all day.  In fact, it was closing time.  But he didn't have the heart to move his friend.  Grillby's could sense the pain Sans was feeling.  He hadn't even touched his ketchup.  Sans had just been staring at a note.  A note he found in his jacket, after Undyne had delivered it back to him for some reason.
Please forgive me, and keep smiling.  See the stars for me, Sans.
                                  [F/n]

Sans would always visit that door.  Her door.  He would make as many knock knock jokes as possible.  For her.  She wanted him to be happy, so he faked it.  When she didn't return, Sans explained to Papyrus that she was in the stars now.  Papyrus didn't get it, but continued on with the puzzles.  [F/n] had made a note for him, and Blooky.  Telling Papyrus to keep up the awesome puzzles, and always work hard for that spot on the guards he rightfully deserved.  As for Blooky, he cried too hard to respond, and fled to the ruins to their "usual spot."  [F/n]'s note for him told him to stay in high spirits, and to never give up on his music career.
Sans pretended to be happy.  But he wasn't.  He kept telling his jokes and puns, but his soul ached.  It was empty.  If it wasn't for Papyrus, Sans would feel like he'd have nothing else to live for.  She was gone.  She was gone, and she would never come back.  In hopes that one day the timeline would start over, Sans would return to her door.  And crack as many jokes as he could.
"Knock knock." Sans choked out.  No response.  "Who's there?...  Star.  Star who?...  You're the prettiest star in the sky, [F/n].  Knock knock... who's there?  Ima.  Ima who?  Ima sorry I never got to say I love you.  Knock knock..."
"Who's there?" That wasn't [F/n]'s voice.  Should he respond?...  [F/n] always said her "Goat Mom" loved knock knock jokes and puns.  There was one knock knock joke that Sans thought was the best ice breaker for this situation.  The one he first used on [F/n].
      "... Dishes."
      "Dishes who?"
      "Dishes a very bad joke."
There was a faint laugh.  Sans smiled sadly.  It wasn't as beautiful as [F/n]'s laugh, but... it was still pretty.

I'm surprised this piece has no comments, seeing as it's really beautiful!
I enjoyed the way you wrote for the reader, made them really believable and they felt human to me.
