Description
So proud of this I've never drawn some of these characters before (Russel, James and Abigail) and it's awesome to see all seven of my babies out on paper (well, computer...) together. It feels like they're real people and not figments of my imagination!

I actually came to learn a lot about my characters in sketching and colouring them, like, for instance, the fact that Amy and I share a similar fashion sense. Hoodies, Pullovers, denim shorts and socks are our jam! I also decided to bring out Russel's 'bad boy' personality in what he's wearing, by also revealing his favourite band: Red Hot Chilli Peppers ;w;

Each character has an adjective which describes their main role in the story- these were fun to come up with, actually, because, after creating them all those years ago I always based them around stereotypes (Like Ebony being a goth for instance) and people I know (Amy reminds me of myself, and Russel a friend of mine).

All in all, this was five hours + well spent!

Russel
He's your average bad boy, and is known mostly for his quick temper, snarky and often harsh comments and crude sense of humor. He grew up in Brisbane, orphaned at a young age, and spent his childhood moving from foster home to foster home due to poor behavior. At thirteen, he got caught up in drug dealing wand smoking with his friends, and on one night was found unconscious by the police. When a full body examination was done, the doctors discovered his Shrignakemia growth, and, after giving him the cure and shrinking him to five and a half inches, send him to an institute for delinquents. After doing his five years sentence there for his crimes, he was released, but was caught by Thomas soon after. He has dated Ebony ever since.

Ebony
She grew up in the countryside of Kingaroy, and formed close ties with Cameron and his shrunken brother Marcus after signing up for soccer at a young age. Days after she was selected as part of the state mixed team though, she passed out on the field and was rushed to the hospital, where her Shrignakemia was first discovered. From there, she spent a few weeks in intensive care until finally made the decision to take the cure (with a lot of persuasion from Marcus). At first being small wasn't all that bad for her, with Marcus and Cameron there to help her through it, but when they began to drift apart, she grew depressed, and this led to her parents suing Sally Ryan for the faulty cure. She was caught by Thomas second, after Marcus. She's sharp tongued, blunt and dresses like a goth at times.

Marcus
He was diagnosed with Shrignakemia at a young age, but, with his family's support, learnt to deal with his stature far better than most of the other Shrunken, excluding Amy. He spent his childhood happy, full of jokes and adventurous, with his brother Cameron, and never felt that his condition held him back in any way. At 13, his mother decided to enroll him into a regular high school, after being homeschooled in the past. There, he met and befriended Thomas Ryan, and they spent the next year as best friends. When Thomas's mother went to prison though, Thomas revealed his darker side and kidnapped him, condemning him to a life in a birdcage. Three years of torture and neglect passed, and Marcus's personality took a massive switch, to the vacant, lost person he is in Minime.

James
He's a more minor character, but grew up in Kingaroy and contracted Shrignakemia at seven years old. He doesn't mind being small at all (in fact, he prefers it), because he 'can go on more adventures that way' . He's always cheerful despite his situation, and is best friends with Abigail.

Amy
The main protagonist. She's sassy, adventurous and was diagnosed with Shrignakemia at birth, meaning that she has no memories of normality. She's considered an anomaly to the other Shrunken, as she doesn't comprehend what the world was like at regular height. Similar to Marcus, everything she does routinely at five and a half inches is what she perceives as the norm, and unlike the others doesn't dream of being regular sized, because she really never was, consciously. Having grown up that way, Amy has adapted to see the entire world differently to everyone else, and has even taught herself how to fight back against normal sized people. To the others, she's described as reckless, wild and fearless, because of her tendencies to jump into the firing line.

Abigail
Another minor character. She was born in Kingaroy, and contracted Shrignakemia at six. She is quite shy, and dainty, and is best friends with James.

Harriet
Harriet is more of a loner than anyone else in the Shrunken group. She's introverted, and doesn't say much compared to loudmouth Amy and her sidekick, Russel. She had a similar upbringing to Amy, being cooped up inside for her shrunken life with only books and technology to keep her company. Thomas captured her when she was home alone.
