Description
After the second Boer war ended on 31 May 1902, many came home after more than two years of war -and some POWs having sent overseas- only to find all that they owned destroyed, livestock driven off, -and as most of the Women and Children were put in concentration camps, many came home no longer having a family.
As proved even more in the future wars, the conflict always reaches far behind the frontlines to those that weren't supposed to even catch a glimpse of the horror that is war.
