I wasn't even planning to do this piece, just wanted to test the new GIMP 2.8 (I don't like it usually). Haven't ever done a raster drawing/coloring before, haven't learned proper techniques and just did what seemed the most intuitive to me.Hell was it hard. These sloppy lines make me feel sad, but Pinkie doesn't mind. Should've either used a bigger canvas or a pen tool (which I reserved for vector and Inkscape). Took ages to complete.

Ayup, but that was one of the few times I've ever used it. It's also one of the cheapest ones.
Pen and paper feels waaay more natural to me and the low res I had chosen at random and laggy GIMP that produced an ugly delay didn't make it easier to paint smooth borders at all. Duh, that was so annoying, especially after having completed a couple of vectors that are perfectly mathematically smooth
Oh well I'm glad it didn't turn out too bad in the end. Fun to try something new. Vectoring own sketch - check, raster painting from scratch - check. Hum, what else.

Dam those cheat tablets, i had one once and it doesn't even work more xD, i'm going to buy a new one though, i don't know why but for me the tablet feels better, don't have all the mess from the pencil and eraser
