Description Boy oh boy September. You maybe my favourite out of the bunch (due to my birthday) but you did go on a bit didn't you?

Many things to talk about, but I only want to address the main thing. No, not Pepe the frog because I'm not a delusional democrat who's never heard of 4Chan before. But rather the amusing self destruction of Youtube as we know it.

Sometimes, friends will say to me "I miss your YouTube content!" or "You'll come back to Youtube" in some naïve way to get me to return to that doomed website. Well much like CM Punk back in 2014, I left.... And I stayed fucking gone!

My reason for leaving Youtube has been no real mystery. I left because I lost the passion to make videos. Everything else is secondary. I didn't like the content
that was being pushed, from screaming girly men LPing "scary video games" to "prank" videos that if I was on the receiving end of one, I'd beat the little shitbag with in an inch of life before he could finish saying "IT'S A PRANK BRO!" no, my fist in your face. THAT'S the prank asshole! Now shut the fuck up and get a real job!

So during that December of 2014, I said to myself "If you don't like it, why not just leave?" kicking up a fuss or screaming about shit isn't fair will be a massive waste of time. So, I quietly walked away from Youtube but I've left the channel up there for everyone to either enjoy my old comment, or leave comments telling me I suck that I'm not going to read anyway!

Honestly? It was the best decision I've ever made. SOOOOOOO much happier now. Returned to my passion that is sprite comics, created Dom Fury who is competing with Daisy for title of my favourite character, landed some more jobs IRL and I met my dearest The-Artistic-Dragon. So yeah, I don't need a Youtube career to be happy in life. Because I tell you this much for nowt. I AM happy. Happiest I've been in I don't know how long, at least 7 years!

So you can imagine how I am both annoyed and trying hard not to laugh at the recent "Adtroversy" that hit Youtube this September. As I stated on my official Facebook, I am saddened that my friends, comrades and channels I enjoy have been hit by this bullshit. While some channels have tried to be rational like TeamFourStar, others got really pissy about it. With your permission, I will tackle this from both ends. Play Devil's advocate if you will. Trust me, the reasons I'm against this will be longer and I'm against the decision despite what the first part implies.

First off, Youtube hasn't really changed anything about their policy, they're now just letting you know you're not worthy of advertising due to your content. Meaning the free ride far too many people have had from Ad revenue, not to name names but it rhymes with "Flindara" or "Boobyclod" will now have to find new and more productive ways of supplementing that income. "This is how I pay my bills" isn't going to fly with Youtube anymore "Flindara!"

Back around 2009, I had a feeling the Youtube bubble would burst at some point. Sure I had BlipTV, making over £300 a month and life was easy. But the wise leader is always prepared and must be ready for when shit hits the fan. Basically I gave myself two choices.

Option A - While continuing to make Youtube content, go out and get a part time job to act as a safety net.

Option B - Sit back, do nothing and assume things will remain the same.

...... Very few people choose Option A.

So to watch people like AngryJoe, Laci Green, ReviewtechUSA, Screwattack and TheYoungTurks being hit with this bullshit does give me a sigh of relief that I prepared... Sure it took a long ass time (THANK YOU VERY MUCH RECESSION CAUSED BY THE IRAQ WAR) but I digress. I don't feel bad for them because if you honestly think a Youtube career was going to last forever? To quote Wade Barret "I'm afraid I've got some bad news!"

Hey prank channels, I'm hoping this will hit you the hardest.

I feel Youtube can make these changes because honestly, what are you going to do? Or more to the point, WHERE are you going to go? Youtube is THE place to be for video viewing content and Youtube knows it. Like what? You'll go to Vidme or Dailymotion? Until a more successful video site pops up, then a lot of you will just have to deal with it. Plus your channels will STILL BE THERE! You just can't make money off them anymore if you're content doesn't conform to the "P.C. Posse" Youtube is catering to now. If your actual channels are being shut down THEN this would be worse. Nobody is really being censored, it's Youtube caving into big corporations in a desperate bid for money.

Corporations: Where do you want it?
Youtube: In my ass senpai!

Okay that's enough of that angle, now I want to look at this the other way. Covering both sides sometimes helps.

This decision seems like something destined to backfire. I mean do you all remember how Google+ came.... And went? How TheFineBros got brutally ass fucked when they tried to get React World off the ground? These decisions are always destined to fail or seem to be when a corporation fails to understand it's audience. My own paranoia feels this is a compromise now that it's looking like TPP is on it's way to an early and well deserved demise. For context, I have the new guidelines right here which state the following.

Content that is considered "not advertiser-friendly" includes, but is not limited to:

1: Sexually suggestive content, including partial nudity and sexual humour.
2: Violence, including display of serious injury and events related to violent extremism.
3: Inappropriate language, including harassment, swearing and vulgar language.
4: Promotion of drugs and regulated substances, including selling, use and abuse of such items.
5: Controversial or sensitive subjects and events, including subjects related to war, political conflicts, natural disasters and tragedies, even if graphic imagery is not shown.

Let's go through each one and give you my take on them.

"1: Sexually suggestive content, including partial nudity and sexual humour."
I think this all depends on context. Now for example if it means webcam girls will no longer be making money then good. Stuff like that shouldn't be on Youtube anyway. Also kiddies, if you truly want to see titties that badly? Go to Pornhub or XXXbunker... Or you know, DeviantArt.

But sexual humour is a different story. Humour is a highly subjective thing. Yet it brings in a double standard that I'm going to bring up as we go through these. So say I make a video about say Dom imagining he's having sex with someone, that won't be monetised, I may not like the decision but I get it. But if CollegeHumour makes another of their lazy sex skits or if Amy Schumer's "comedy" is uploaded. Will they be denied monetisation too?

"2: Violence, including display of serious injury and events related to violent extremism."
Again, something that is reasonable. I think videos depicting violence or death shouldn't be allowed on YT either. If you're uploading videos of you beating your girlfriend or glorifying gang violence. Then of course Toyota or Colgate won't want their ads on your snuff videos. Yet I am curious if this means BLM or ISIS videos will also be punished. If not, then you have some explaining to do Youtube. Also does this mean news outlets like CNN using YT to promote content won't be allowed to monetise? Their video about the Syrian boy with half his face ripped to shreds has ads. Can you say double standards?

I'm combining the next two for they basically belong together for my point.

"3: Inappropriate language, including harassment, swearing and vulgar language.
4: Promotion of drugs and regulated substances, including selling, use and abuse of such items."

Sounds like EVERY Hip Hop Music Video on Youtube doesn't it? I mean let me regale with some lyrics from a few hip hop songs here.

"Uh, pop that pussy for a real n*gg*
Pull out my black car, that's my lil n*gg*
Make a movie with your bitch, Steven Spiel n*gg*
Smoking on Keysh' Col', gimme me chills n*gg*"

"Real country ass n*gg*, let me play with his rifle
Pussy put his ass to sleep, now he calling me NyQuil"

"........... SMOKE WEED EVERYDAAAAAY!"

Yeah Youtube, REAL advertiser friendly. Now there are other genres who curse and promote these things for sure. But I wanted to highlight this one in particular for it serves to prove my point. So you have an issue with say AVGN saying fuck, but Lil Wayne can use the N word more times than a full stop? Fuck outta here.

"5: Controversial or sensitive subjects and events, including subjects related to war, political conflicts, natural disasters and tragedies, even if graphic imagery is not shown."

This one in particular is very striking. Sure the foul language, bewbs and weed you can sort of understand to some degree. But real world events are something you cannot ignore. I have a working theory for this one if you'll indulge me for a moment. I read a report recently which I feel #5 is a response to it.

www.activistpost.com/2016/04/d…

People are turning away from the news in America, because it's controlled, adjusted and dressed up to get the right reactions out of people (something I've fallen for a lot recently) but will tell you anything but the truth. Just look at the "peaceful protests" coverage of Charlotte North Carolina for example.

Lionel Hutz: But there's "the truth" (shakes head) and "the truth." (smiles wide)

Since Youtube doesn't have to cater to the red tape and corporate dick fucking that is television. People can report the news any way they see fit, which is the true luxury of the internet. The ability to say and do whatever the fuck you like without fear of censorship or shut down. Yet lately corporate America doesn't like that and would like you all to be good little children and do one simple thing.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=toxIiM…

"Stop telling the world Hillary's a corrupt shill, so we can tell you how she's the right person to be President!"

I don't buy the idea this has anything to do with Social Justice, cus corporations don't truly care about those people. This is a means to punish those who dare to tell the truth both left, right and centre. Companies are learning the hard way that the Internet is where people go now for news, reviews, information, advice and technology. They cannot handle that they've been left behind for a superior way of doing things. Hell, the fact you're even reading these words is a clear indication of what I'm talking about. Yet they've gotten sick of our free antics and making money a different way, so they'd like you all to stop doing what you're doing, be good little children and return to Plato's Cave.

I really hope I don't have to explain that reference.

And just when you thought it couldn't get anyway worse.... They brought out Youtube Heroes. Which not only made it worse, but rather turned the whole thing in a circus act for my amusement. Watching everyone lose their collective shits has been entertaining even if I know that's wrong. You'll have to forgive the gloating nature, but watching people who honestly believe a YT career was impervious to the causality known as life probably needed this karmic slap in the face. Not to say I don't have my grumblings with Youtube. Mainly their constant need to delete my search history and forcing "trending topics" up my bleeding asshole!!

To get a basis of this rant, let me share with you a story.

When I'm working, I watch Youtube videos on the Xbox 360. And to those of you laughing at me for being on last gen hardware, people who live in glass houses with current gen consoles that have zero games should not throw stones.

Anyway, I watch Youtube via the 360 so it allows me to work on comics, sprites etc without having to constantly lower the tab to see the video in question. Odd thing, I'll be watching a YT video or a movie but I'll play music on the computer at the same time. Does anyone else do that or am I just weird?

I tend to have a set number of searches saved in my YT history that I like to watch on a regular basis. Razorfist, SGB/SomeCallMeJohnny, Geibuchan, TeamFourStar and Death Battle when it isn't sucking. Yet what is seeming like every day now, Youtube erases this search history, and by extension the recommendations associated with those searches... In favour of what is "currently trending!"

Which can be a complete bastard when you're trying to watch a series like Cyborg 009 Vs Devilman..... I was curious.

It's like Youtube says "No you don't want to see all that decent content you enjoy. What you really want, is crappy music videos by vapid whores such as Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande!"

No Youtube, the only videos I want to see involving those two talentless puppets is one of the following.

1: Mutating into an eldritch abomination with terrific bewbs.
2: Hacked to pieces by Jason Voorhees.
3: Ripped to pieces by a pack of Honey Badgers.
4: Getting buttfucked by someone who is a dead ringer for Master Roshi from Dragonball Z.
5: Or not at all.

Lady Gaga is a useless twat who is only famous because she dressed up like a Scooby Doo villain and sung about being a prostitute, while Ariana is only "famous" for telling people not to look at her body.... By constantly showing off her body. Fuck these whores, get them off my Youtube searches.

Now for those with thin skins, here is a more polite version. I am not interested in what is considered "popular" according to the drooling simps who get excited whenever someone plays one of these shitty pop songs. Call me a contrarian if you must but music has been consistently sucking since the late 80's and isn't showing any signs of improvement. No, I don't care if Rhianna and the untalented twatdonkeys you like are "trending on Youtube or twitter" then can go trend off a cliff for all I care. Give me my electro wave, 80's synthesizers and my heavy metal you sheep. Fuck all these dubstepping douchebags right in the asshole. I'm not interested in Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, EllenShow or any of these late night talk shows Youtube seems hell bent on shoving down my throat every time they reset my search history.

Being "popular" is not an excuse to have this shit in my face whenever I see to my dismay Youtube have pulled this yet again. Never mind whiny man babies crying cus they can't make ad revenue anymore, fix this shit Youtube! It's annoying, it's irritating and tiresome to have to reset this every time you do it. Maybe that's why I'm glad I left Youtube? Free from whiny babies crying about being "censored!"

But, and I have to stress this, it isn't censorship. IF your channels were terminated all together. THEN it's censorship.

Let me bring this to a close and a TL;DR version for those who skipped to the end.

To my friends and channels I support hit by this bullshit. I hope you find a way around this for I hate to see you go. But for those who quit their jobs who honestly believed they'd be set for life via Youtube.

A Job Center maybe in your future. Hey I did it and it turned out okay.... Eventually.

For megaman I wouldn't consider getting a TV show still stuck in limbo.

You can imagine how big my smile was when I saw Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice getting mostly positive reviews. It may not be the Sonic game everybody wanted, but hopefully this will slowly repair the spin-off series damaged reputation and a sign that SEGA really means to improve and regain the fans respect. As soon as I get a 3DS, I’ll defiantly give this game a shot.

Ha ha ha! I bet IGN are kicking themselves right this very minute.
