Thomas meets the Troublesome twins

The big quarry, on the center isle. Is a busy place to work. There was no dawdling and no bickering needed, except for Bill and Ben, the tank engine twins.

The devours tank engines played tricks on the others, Mavis the quarry diesel, try to talk them down. Diesel commented, “expect a couple of trickster tank engines to cause trouble.” “Shut it, Diesel” Mavis snapped. “Yah, shut it, Diesel!” Laughed the twins. Diesel hated Bill, Ben, and their tricks.

Later, the twins got a naughty idea, they crept up behind Diesel and gave him a great big shunt. Diesel came off the rails, and his back buffer was bent badly. Mavis sighed, “now you’ll have to go to the repair yard…” “but who will do my work?” Diesel asked. Mavis thought for a moment, “Thomas!” She smiled. Diesel was disappointed, “not that blue puff ball!” He cried.

Thomas was soon called, and he rushed to the quarry as quick as possible. He arrived just in time to see Diesel. “Bashed buffers?” Thomas exclaimed, “I thought diesels were supposed to be stronger than steam engines?” He joked. Diesel purred, “don’t worry, it’ll be over soon” he smiled. Thomas was confused, but Diesel continued. “All steamies will be scrapped and soon us diesels will take over!” Diesel said. Thomas was cross, “the Fat Controller would never!” He puffed, but he was secretly worried.

All threw out that night, Thomas wondered is fate. “Tomorrow” he puffed to himself, “I’ll be the most useful engine this quarry has ever seen!”

The next day, Thomas got straight to work. At first, it was simple, until he meet up with Bill and Ben. “So your the little twerps who bashed Diesel’s buffers?” Thomas asked. Bill and Ben nodded. “We’ll just stay out of my way, I’ve got more important work to do then play with you two.”

Bill and Ben suddenly got a delightfully devilish idea. The crept behind the quarry, they were going to bash into Thomas, like they did with Diesel. Thomas puffed onto the line when the twins hid, but then Mavis noticed the two and shouted, “Thomas, look out!” Thomas looked behind, as the twin puffed towards him. Luckily, Thomas chuffed onto the other line, just in time!

Bill and Ben tried to stop, realizing their plan had failed, but it was too late. The troublesome twins bashed into a set of buffers. Bill found himself dangling of a ledge, luckily Ben was still on the track, but couldn’t hold Ben’s weight. “Help!” The twins cried, quickly and without hesitation, Thomas was coupled to the twin and pulled as hard as he could.

Thomas and Ben pull and pull, and pull! Until finally, Ben was pulled safely back on the rail. “That was too close” Mavis purred. “You two should be more careful” she snapped. Bill and Ben realized there predicament, “we’re sorry, Thomas, we promise not to trick you again” Thomas sighed, “remind me to put some quotes around that.” And they all laughed as they finished their duties.

Diesel returned as well, and he was impressed with all of their hard work…
