Well, someone has to die. This is war after all...

Is this what you call angst? I just felt like drawing something that reflects my current state of emotions since my Phili OC is all like tralalala its xmas and all that $h!+. Anyway, I suddenly had the urge to draw something for the secondary characters in APH line up_sketch . Maybe I'll make one for the others too. I think I want to make this doujin. I'll be freeloader in January, and I'll have all the free time in the world. hmmnn...

As Ive mentioned before, I'll only use APH characters whose people are present in the Philippines during WW2. Yes, there are Canadians and Norwegians, though I have to admit, I dont know what their roles are in the war, nor do I know why they are in the Pacific. Iceland on the otherhand, well, I just want him to be a part of this (he's my one of my faves ok! And I have a role for him). I know, he's probably too young to be in the army (he's 15, right?), but in those days, there are lots of runaway kids pretending to be adults so they can join the army. Ugh! Im in serious shortage of American and Japanese characters that Im using other Nations to fill in!

Anyway, Im not sure if I should make Matthew Alfred's twin or a younger brother. Either way, Matthie still represents Canada. Arthur is their British cousin who acts like their older brother. Too bad, Francis isnt part of this. That would have completed the FACE family...

Yes, I know, Alfred and Matthew looks different. I gave Matthew shorter hair coz he is in the army. Both of them dont have glasses because, Alfred doesnt have them yet, while Matthew's glasses was confiscated.

Edit: Hehe, I dint realize the Hunger Games reference in this. But this is based on real events and I already decided to include this in the story even before I ever got to watch Hunger games. Sorry I forgot to include this in the first place (thats what happens when youre impatient and sleep-deprived. ) In any case, here's part in the book that details this situation:

...Individual questioning went on much of the morning, and then later in the day, a Japanese colonel who spoke fair English came to address the entire group. He said that it had come to the attention of the Japanese army that a number of atrocities had been committed by the Americans during the defense of Bataan and those atrocities would have to be avenged. There was a particular incident that had occurred in a place called Quinauan, where the Japanese had made a surprise landing by boat behind the lines and had proceeded to dig themselves into a series of hillsides that swept precipitously to the sea. The fighting, much of it hand-to-hand, had indeed been horrific, with a high death toll for both sides. When the Japanese refused to surrender, the Americans forced the Japanese out of their intricately connected burrows by driving tanks over the foxholes and dropping firebombs directly into the entrances...

...In any case, the Japanese colonel now insisted that the Americans would have to pay a price for the Quinauan incident. He instructed the officers to select ten individuals from within their ranks. This ten men, he said, would face a firing squad in the morning...

...After much discussion, ten Americans of different ranks were chosen. Some of them, including Thomas, volunteered...

...The next morning the ten men were brought over to a hill and made to watch a group of Japanese soldiers as they practiced marksmanship and bayonet skills on a s series of targets set up in trees. Thomas and the other nine men were handed shovels and pickaxes and forced to dig a hole large enough to accommodate all of them. As a courtesy to the damned, they were given cigarettes to smoke and sake to drink and then told to kneel at the threshold of the grave. The colonel asked them if they wanted blindfolds and they declined...

Im not gonna say what book I got this from coz Im gonna use the same title for my doujin.
