I got the first two rooster casts colored this weekend.The clients haven't seen them yet but I have a feeling they'll be happy when they do.
I had a blast seeing it all come together.
I was really happy with how the color separated all his parts and brought him to life.
I'm going to be doing a regular red and white version as well, but not until I get my other pile of work done.
I'll post other shots of him soon when I have time.
Hope you all like him!
Ps. I had all sorts of reference photos to use for color and was torn between using gray or yellow on the feet but decided on gray to keep it a little more muted and richer....

Normally, I'm more fond of the sculpts in clay with one tone, but this time the color changed that for me...

Randy, he is absolutely fantastic! I loved the sculpture unpainted because he was already so full of life and character, but thanks to your exquisite, vibrant paint job, he really seems like he's about to strut right off that pedestal and steal the hearts of a whole farmyard full of hens.

Strangely enough, there was a DD today that had a chicken with a similar color scheme, even having the grey legs. Not only did I learn something today, but it was also reinforced. Weird.

This is one of the first pieces that I liked better after it was colored.
Usually I like a flat gray or tan original sculpt look to appreciate the texture etc. but I really like how the colors separate everything....

They are 27 inches high but I wouldn't think it would be super expensive since it's here in the U.S.
