This is really amazing! I like these kind of sculptures; so much detail, it inspires me to try sculpting (I haven't even built an armature yet, though I bought clay months ago).

Thank you for such a kind comment! I have every intention of sculpting until my fingers give out, which hopefully won't be happening any time soon.
I'm glad you enjoy the things I make.
Thanks again!

Wow, this is absolutely incredible! He looks so alive, I love how you can see all the muscles and wrinkles in the skin. That base is really neat as well, I just love everything about this.

God I love your work! It wouldn't be for a looong time, but do you ever do commissions? I'd love to have something like this done of my dog as a memorial.

Thanks!
I actually don't do dog sculptures any longer. I do take commissions if I feel the subject is challenging and interesting, though.

Well I do have a hellhound version of him that would be challenging. lol Runes, flames, two sets of horns, long narrow tail, scales in some spots, sable, light silver and cream points. That's only dabbling in it though.
I've always been super impressed by your work, it's fantastic. Inaccurate anatomy is a big pet peeve of mine and I have not seen it once with your art. Adore it all.

Thanks, Randy! Glad you dig this guy.
This fall has been both good and bad--I got married in September to , my boyfriend of seven years, but about a month later, he had to have a planned back surgery, and going through the recovery process with him has been challenging. He gets better every day, but it's been pretty stressful.
I've really been working hard on a couple of new sculptures, and both should be done by the end of the year, which means that I should have 3 pieces to submit to Spectrum this time around.
The Festival of the Arts deadline passed yesterday and I got my submission in on time, but I'm not sure how good my chances are, given that two of the pieces I submitted to the jury were sculptures that I entered with last year. In any case, regardless of the result, I'm proud of myself for giving it another go, and even if things don't go my way this time around either, I'm determined to try again next year, with all new pieces.
Hope things have been going great for you! Thanks again for your kindness, man, I really appreciate it!

You bet Rachel...
Man, that kind of stuff can test your limits.
What doesn't kill us right?
Best of luck getting in to Spectrum and the Festival of the Arts entry as well...
I don't know how many shows I've been rejected by, but when it came down to it, I figure that there's a reason for it.
The ones that I did get in to usually proved successful and a lot of fun.
Putting good luck energy your way!
Best to you,
Take care

Looks great! I need to try and get some of my stuff in line to apply there to, probably not this year though, schools been taking up a lot of my time. Good luck!

Thanks!
The deadline for the 2012 show was yesterday, but you have plenty of time to get stuff together for next year. The FOALB folks decided to call for entries right after this year's show ended, so they'll be done with all the jurying for 2012 by the end of this year in order to give folks who are accepted time to build up some inventory before next July.
Hope you're still enjoying school!
