what clay body is that?
Is it a plastic resin clay or ceramic?

Nope, it's actually a sculpting wax I like to use called Castilene....

your work is so absolutely amazing. I'm just getting into clay -- I do funcitonal pottery. "Sculpting" is now on my docket in the form of goofy faces on mugs and jugs.
But the level of work that YOU do is phenomenal. I'm a noob. You are the Jedi Master of Sculpting!

Thanks so much for your kind words and support!
Thanks as well for all those faves!
I've always loved the idea of goofy faces on mugs etc.
That was always my favorite thing to see at Renaissance Festivals...
Good luck in your sculpting adventures!
Thanks again,
Take care

thanks!
hey I really lucked out! I found a wheel for $75 bucks on craig's list -- an old shimpo. works like a charm -- unbelievable.
should have sold for $300 minimum. It's dog ugly, but it runs absolutely smooth and is perfectly centered.
sweet!

Ah throwing wheels....
My wife and I took a throwing class...
While it was wonderful to be in the class together,
she caught on like a pro and I just plain sucked...
I would love to get good at it someday.
I'd also like to buy my wife a wheel when we have the room.
Take care and congrats on the great find!

keep a lookout on Craigslist for your area. sooner or later, one will turn up for the right price. I looked for two years.
Finally, I got lucky!
