They should've given them more feathers. I mean, they were so close, they could've gone that extra mile instead of just giving them a few quills and calling it quits! And now, JW won't even have the feathers! The palaeontologist within me is angryΒ Β
But rant aside, nice pic. It's super-realistic, and the lighting is fantastic! It looks dark and mysterious, a silent menace from the dawn of time.

They're concerned that they might ruin the storyline if they added the feathers. I think that's the thing. I never get entertained by naked lizard looking dinosaurs myself but still Jurassic park is very authentic and that made it cool.

No, the real issue they said was that the CGI at the time wasn't good enough to have realistic feathers.

Personally, I feel like people could come up with some really cool dino designs involving feathers if they didn't see it as a necessity rather than a cool new tool. I get that people don't feel that birds are threatening, but I mean... well, look at Lord Shen, from KFP2. He was badass and terrifying, partially due to Gary Oldman's AWESOME voice acting, but also due to a fantastic design which portrayed him as sleek, predatory, agile and deadly. They didn't make him terrifying in spite of being a peacock, but in a way, because of it. Now, if someone could do that for some kind of raptor, I would watch that movie. Unless it's another Carnosaur sequel

If ever there is a sequel to Jurassic world, I'm pretty sure they'd put some feathered dinos in there. Probably not on the velociraptors but some new ones. If not then screw them
