Well I always do a painted version to show to people how good it can look painted. That usually helps sell the design's potential. Most people have a hard time imagining what it looks like painted. Anyway just a sales tip.

Thanks, Me to. I reinforced the silicone so it should do well. I also fiber glassed the plaster shell (resin only) so its durable. I am going to fill in some air bubbles that are in the silicone mold which is no big deal. I just wish the smell of fiberglass resin would dissipate so I can bring the mold indoors. It's cured but still smells.

yeah, well most important is the heat from the exothermic resins. Its good to let it cool down between each casting, my bonehunter mold deteriorated from the excess heat build-up and it was a thick and expensive silicone mold. Just use a lot of mold release on it and it should last you sometime.

I don't have mold release but I do use what is called Silicone Lubricant for machines. It works pretty well

yeah I don't have anything like that here, just a silicone oil spray for rubber molds. Its works ok, not great. I want something that can dissolve resin and keep the micro-pores in silicone molds free of impurities that can lead to castings in the future "grabbing" and sticking to the mold.
