With : Xiphiorhynchus rotundus, an oligocene giant swordfish from the Xiphiidae family, as large as a great white shark ; Ophtalmosaurus icenicus, a 6 meters long ichthyosaur from the middle-late Jurassic of Europe and North America, almost as big as a certain pliosaur seen in a certain series ; the pliocene-pleistocene pilot whale Platalearostrum hoekmani ; and the permian dicynodont Bulbasaurus phylloxyron named after its nasal bosses and thus not directly after the Pokemon Bulbasaur.Bulbasaurus was requested by

I'm still suspicious about the naming of Bulbasaurus, despite what they say, especially since the full name translates to 'leaf razor bulbous lizard'. Great drawings as always!

The "leaf razor" could refer to the sharp beak but true that it's a strange coincidence. They probably wanted a name which describes some of its main characteristics, winking at the Pokemon universe at the same time for some reason ? After all, naming an animal after something popular is a good way to let people know about it
