An amazing capture to a beautiful character. I absolutely adore the shades you did as well as the way she was drawn. It adds an artistic blend with the sea as the splash shows a more live feel to the piece. The details in her body are perfectly placed that it defines her body proportions as equal as a real human body. Her expression also synchronizes with her pose, showing a more charming and beautiful posture, while her hair opposes, looking like a fire, in which I find very creative rather than a disadvantage. Her hair could have a been a little longer though but it's still quite a beauty. For the style, I find this piece very enchanting.

I had to search long and hard to find a good reference for the image I had in my head. I think I amalgamated three in the end. I must admit I struggle to draw without such references, but they have to fit my concept, not the other way around
I do agree with you about the hair. I kind of ran out of space to describe it properly though

I wanted to do a capture of Ariel, the little Mermaid emerging from the water as she does spectacularly after her transformation. But at the same time I didn't want to do the traditional image. I do like the effect here
