My first comic! The first comic I've ever drawn, my first fan comic for ATLA, and my first time drawing both Toph and Koh.

I am sorry for the awkward set-up; it's meant to be read left-to-right like a normal strip. I would have put it vertical, but that would be so huge. This way, it just about fills the screen.

I thought the lines were pretty clever when I wrote them up, but there's nothing like spending 2 days on a project to kill all your enthusiasm for your own supposed brilliance. I hope it's kind of funny.

Before this I tried drawing other ATLA characters, including Katara and Zuko, in a kind of comic-y form, but they turned out terrible. I think Toph works so well because she already looks like she belongs in a comic strip anyway.

This is my first digital coloring picture, as well. What a headache! And I didn't even add shadows or anything; it's all solid fills. I am absolutely certain now that I could never do anything more complicated than bucket fills without getting a tablet. Which I'm going to get sometime this year.

I am getting better at the line tool, though. This was drawn by hand, but the clean-up was done with the assistance of the line-tool in Photoshop 7.
