A blonde boy sat beside his team-mate, hands behind his head, casually looking upwards. Suddenly, he spoke up with a rather odd question.

"What would you do if I cried?"

"... You don't cry."

The blonde glanced at his friend, his black eyes emotionless in contrast to his blue.

"What would you do if I died?"

"... You won't die."

The blonde gave up, and with a shrug, turned over on his side. The next question was meant for himself. The black-haired boy wasn't even meant to hear it.

"What would you do if I left?"

The fox-boy was almost sure that his friend didn't hear him, because he did not respond. The blonde fiddled with a blade of grass in between his fingers.

Suddenly the shinobi felt a small weight on his arm. He looked up to find a familiar hand gripping his shoulder. A slight look of concern flashed through the normally stoic boy's eyes.

"You can't leave."
