Soo, I haven't posted an OC in a very long time, mostly because I really haven't made any OCs. I've fiddled with designs but never flossed out a character until this guy. Anyways~

To the Profile!

Name: Pyrefang (Subject K12 Alpha)
Faction: Decepticon
Alt. Mode: None – he doesn’t really need one
Gender: Most assume mech (And they’d be right)
Age: Unknown
Function: Hyper-active puppy, attack dog
Weapons: Claws, fangs. Various body parts (fangs, claw, and end of tail) can be engulfed with fire. Very sensitive olfactory, audio, and optic sensors.
Personality: Pyrefang is often described as one-half hyper-active puppy, one-half attack dog, depending on the situation. Energetic and easily distracted, he will often prance about when in a good mood. However when ordered, he becomes an extremely focused and very vicious attack dog when the situation calls for it. He is very good at following orders, as he is programmed to do, and because he also loves getting rewards (scratches and pets) as a result. He is rather intuitive (for a mech with his small processer) and can understand speech, but he cannot speak himself and gets confused quite often (Like all the time). He loves attention and will sulk if ignored for too long, but the simplest of form of attention will perk him up.
Likes: Scratches, being petted, running, Soundwave (particularly his symbiotes), those little red glow-y dots he can never catch (think cats with laser pointers). He likes Megatron and those who follow the Decepticon cause.
Dislikes: Being ignored, being disciplined, Starscream, annoying things. Those who go against Lord Megatron or the Decepticon cause, as he is programmed to.
Background: Subject K12 Alpha is a creation from Shockwave’s lab back on Cybertron. No bot’s really sure whether he was a form of Cybertronian wildlife infused with a mech’s processor or a mech reprogrammed into an animal. Whatever the case may be, every bot agrees that he’s too smart and intuitive to be a simple animal but too dumb to be completely mech.
Pyrefang was created to a loyal pet and was programmed to follow any command given to him by either Shockwave or Megatron.
Relationships:
Shockwave - His creator and master. He likes Shockwave, but the mech generally has little time for his and his antics, so Pyrefang prefers to spend time in the company of other bots.
Megatron – His other master. He likes Megatron and will often spend his time with him even if it’s nothing more than acting like an impromptu guard dog. He finds the mech scary when angry, however.
Soundwave – He really likes Soundwave, partially due to his extreme loyalty, but Soundwave seems to like Pyrefang more than most. He will often give Pyrefang attention, as little as it may be, but no matter how small the scratch, Pyrefang loves it. Pyrefang also really likes Soundwave’s symbiotes (because most of them are almost like him!) and he enjoys spending time with them when Soundwave allows it.
Starscream – He dislikes Starscream. A lot. He may be dumb, but Pyrefang knows enough that Starscream dislikes Megatron and therefore Pyrefang dislikes Starscream. Also, Starscream’s screeching tends to hurt his audios.
Eradicons – He doesn’t really have a particular like or dislike towards them, but what he does like is tormenting them because he knows they’re afraid of him.
Those Bots with the Red Faces that Attack them a Lot (Autobots) – Programmed to hate them. Nothing more.
Notes:
-Pyrefang can walk upright if need be. However, his walk is very ungainly and unbalanced, and just plain awkward. He spends most of his times on all fours, where he is far more agile and fast.
-Pyrefang’s mask has an unusual origin. He managed to steal Soundwave’s mask once or twice and trot around with it balanced on his face, most likely to imitate the Decepticon TIC. Megatron had Shockwave make Pyrefang his own mask to keep him from stealing Soundwave’s and to, as Megatron said, stop the drooling. Pyrefang did have a small problem with drooling, but he eventually did stop after receiving his very own retractable mask.

Pyrefang has had a very long journey. I first thought of his character almost a year ago exactly. I love Soundwave and I thought of a character who shares Soundwave's loyalty and faceless-ness, but just more animalistic.

I started drawing his design in my Organic Chemistry class. I would often get to class early, so I would spend my few minutes of free time working on the basics of his design. Over my summer break, I finalized his design and scanned him into the computer. I've slowly been adding color in bits during the small amount of free time I've had.

Colors were hard for this guy. I originally thought of grey and orange for Pyrefang, but when Predaking was revealed, it was far too similar. Blue was my next choice. I kept the orange in the orange-yellow gradient, but the pallet was a little too dull, so I tweaked the orange to be more reddish and gave the blue purple undertones to help balance out the yellow. I ended up with a very fire-y creation, which gave birth to the name Pyrefang and his fire abilities which I never planned on adding at the beginning.
