The Idea behind this picture is that the both of them just frolic around and that Rainbow Dash interprets maybe a little bit too much into the situation. (I really have the feeling that she has a little crush on Applejack in the show, with all that mutual tail-grabbing and such. And yeah, it's terrible creepy to be that obsessed over a cartoon for little girls. But what can I say? I enjoy it from the bottom of my heart. It makes me happy. <3)

well you said that they was just playing around but that dash seems to be getting into it a little more than just playing, so if AJ is unaware of this, than she would have no reason to have her face that close, I mean ask yourself when the last time you and your friends where playing around and you nearly had your noses touching? but I still like this pic, and I did say if I was AJ I would be uncomfortable, so if AJ is fine with that than she's fine with that.

Well, that makes a lot of sense! You're right of course.
So, maybe it's a bit more on the flirt-y side from AJ? Maybe she's unaware of it but subconscious she really enjoys the closeness?
But I also think, that AJ has such an innocent-touching side, if you know what I mean. Maybe she just doesn't realize how "inappropriate" such closeness is. For her it's normal fooling around, but Rainbow Dash clearly interprets it the other way around.
Or maybe it's just what it is.
Ok, now I really give way too much thought into a simple picture. But I'm happy that my pictures sparks such things.
