Description
Somewhere on DA I saw a guy who once in a while went back to a favorite photo of his and retouched it according to his current taste and skill. Just to see if he’d make progress since last time. I thought that was a fabulous idea. Funny how a photo is not only a frosen moment in time, its also a frozen example of the style you had in that particular period. Lately I’ve been into muting the colors and light, sort of making the photos appear as visions so dark, you were lucky to catch a glimpse of it before it was swallowed by pitch black eternal night.Ever since submitting “splash” it’s been the photo I’ve received the friendliest notes/mails about. Since it has never been on the frontpage, all the 163 people who has

I love the pic, very beautiful. Part of me wants to see more image to the left so I could see the entire path of the water. It also seems like there should be more out there since that the direction that she is facing. Overall, very, very cool picture.

thanks for your comment I wish there was more to both sides, but unfortunately there is not much more to show. I only cropped it slightly in order to properly center the figure.

absolutely amazing photo...simply stunning! Your shutterspeed and timing are nothing short of perfect and this new dark style you speak of suits this shot so well... Its like I just caught a glimpse of the most beautiful mystical thing in my life but only for a fleeting moment.. a mermaid or something

amazing, don't know how you were able to capture such perfect moment. One of the most talented photographer I'v seen , you are. I lightning is perfect, composition, the naked women taking a bath, and the absolute perfect effect with the water from her hair. Yet again, amazing photograph, one of the best I'v had the oppertunity to see. Love this with all my ,

Thankies for such a flattering comment! I must admit it wasnt such a hard shot. All you have to do is measure the light on the sky instead of the person. That way you sillhuet (sp?) the person, and with the faster shutter speed, the droplets are frozen without blur. Capturing the girl when she was in completely vertical position was just luck

Well I love this dark version, i'll have to see the original now! Such movement and beauty captured in such a split second...it's the essence of photography, imo.

thank you for the comment. I'm fascinated by photography for the same reason. With the amazing effects on fullmotion film/video of today, photography for me is mostly about capturing special moments, or freezing movement in the right moment.

This photo is simply astounding. I cannot utter enough praise for it. The shadowy figure coupled with the translucent trail of water running its circular course is, to use the cliche 'picture perfect.' I don't know if I've seen a better photo. Ever.
God this is so good.

I don't usually add comments to things I view, but here, I felt like I just had to mention how much I love this photograph. I've been away from my camera for a few months now, (mostly because of a new graphic design job which, frankly, makes me want to do anything but graphic work when I come home...) and seeing this is giving me that itch to pick it back up again. Either way, beautiful capture, great toning, and I look forward to viewing the rest of your works.
