hi and sorry for the late reply. It is a place called "kaloe vig slotsruin" named after the ruins of the ancient castle that lies here. Its about 20 km. east of Århus, second largest city in Denmark.

Ah! Well yes I was "talking about the guy." He was a philosopher, Greek. As in S.P.A. (Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle) They taught each other in that order (incidentally Aristotle also went on to teach Alexander the Great!) Anyways, my reference was to Plato's theory that somewhere there is a PERFECT one of everything. This was his explanation of how language worked. People always know what you are talking about because the nouns you are using refer to the essence of the thing. For example: You know what a tree is, not because someone described the word "tree" to you and then you went outside and recognized a tree as being "tree." Rather, you went out side saw a "tree" and asked for the word describing it, and understood. Because we all inherently know what a tree is, we are born with the meaning and the word is what we are taught. The word is what changes from language to language, not the meaning. which is why it is possible to learn new languages, but that there are words in each language with different meanings. I could expound on this a bit more, but hopefully you get the idea.
What I am saying is, yes you recognize the tree. Because maybe, for you, this is the perfect tree. You recognized it with out ever seeing it before, and yet for your whole life you have "seen" it and know what it was. This whole concept can be very complicated to explain, sorry.

I really like the colors and how the edges look like an old photo. How do you get such great effects in your photos? I mean the tones and everything.

I would love to see this as a series! I have been searching for tree portraits. I love this one -- so inspiring! I have a perticular love for landscapes & architectural elements as subjects.
