Description WORK IT. Just a crude little animation, haha. DUNNO WHY HE'S RUNNING YOU DECIDE OK.
..I hope it looks fine anyway, I've never really done a run cycle before
I do like the idea of Parker walking on 2 legs but running on all 4's though, Rigby style, haha.

Ah haha so you did! Fantastic
It's uhh, 8 frames I believe! And yes Rigby's run is awesome...
You totally need to animate more....I like, remember one of yours, with lip syncing...but the audio was gone or something xD

Very nice for one of your first run cycle! Its probably been said in some way, but I'm glad you took the tail movement into account rather than just placing it wherever in each frame.

Aww haha thanks man! Good to hear from you again
Yeah, it's decent...could use some work though.

Hehe, cool. Although from what I've seen IRL, squirrels usually arch their backs a tad more when they are running. Of course, that motion would carry out throughout the entire body, including the tail. Just sayin, but cool otherwise! How long did this take, eh?

Yeah it ain't perfect, haha...Mostly the head...uhhhh it took about half an hour

Sprybug [2011-07-15 02:44:08 +0000 UTC]

Not bad. Let me help you out. When 4 legged animals run, all 4 arms/legs are at a different point in the run than another, so the back 2 legs and forward 2 legs wouldn't be together like you have them. Usually one is about 2 frames ahead of the other. A good example of this is by watching Richard William's Horse run animation on youtube. he breaks it down step by step and it's really insightful. Now I know Parker isn't a horse, but there's a lot from that that you can take and apply to this animation. I've used it to help me out with animal runs in the past. Not bad action with the tail, but watch out for a few trouble spots. Parker's head breaks its path of action at one point and jitters. Hope this has been helpful!

RaunchyOpposition In reply to Sprybug [2011-07-22 21:29:17 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, haha maybe I took the easy route, never done one of these. I've heard about the jittery head so many times...maybe I'll get that next time..hopefully!

Sprybug In reply to RaunchyOpposition [2011-07-23 00:50:28 +0000 UTC]

You can always go back and fix up these things. It's like your other art you can go back to and fix up. Not bad for a first time though. Much better than my first walk cycle.

LunarDawn [2011-07-15 01:42:44 +0000 UTC]

There's some nice wave action on the tail there, a little bounce in the ears would have really sold this. It's pretty smooth though and has a good pace.

Furrama [2011-07-14 22:24:14 +0000 UTC]

Wow, that's really good for a first go at it.

I guess the only big crit is that the hair on his head or chin should be swaying, or his frown should increase on landing, as it doesn't feel like it's attached to the rest of his body while it moves.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RaunchyOpposition In reply to Furrama [2011-07-15 00:17:57 +0000 UTC]

Yeahhhhh that's true! I made the hair....bounce sliiightly, but it should so be more exaggerated... and I have no idea how the downward momentum would affect the head at this point... Haha hopefully I'll learn eventually
Thanks!

I've tried animating movement several times but always turns out pretty unnatural. You pulled it off nicely though!

Now that you mention it.. it kinda looks like it isn't really pushing away enough, or something. I can't quite say but it still looks good.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RaunchyOpposition In reply to Firant [2011-07-15 00:21:59 +0000 UTC]

Well it's like it covers the sweater too much, even when it should be completely pushed out, like his leg is super round or something
