Description
Canada's resilient C3 Defiant is designed by German company Krauss-Maffei. The tank was designed in the late 90's as a replacement for the Leopard 2A5/6. The Canadian military, still using Leopard C1 tanks became the main financial provider of the new KMW project. When the tank was finished in 2011, it entered the Canadian Armed Forces as the C3 MBT. The tank has become affectionately named the Defiant, a name given to it by Canadian cavalry as opposed to the Silent Cheetah, the original KMW name. The tank is made to be able to run longer for less. When the A1 was first produced in 2011, it was the first Hybrid (Diesel-Electric) tank in existence. The tank also features an impressively quiet engine (Rheinmetall Canada V-12 Hybrid, other countries use the Rheinmetall Germany engine) even when running on Diesel hence the name Silent. It's also capable of 90 km/h on road and only slightly less off of it hence the name Cheetah. The best part about this engine is that it can be easily fixed from inside the tank and has an operational range of 2300 km (Leopard 2 has a range of 550km). The only part of the tank not designed by German's and Canadians is the canon, being a British 120mm rifled canon (as opposed to the MacArthur 155mm Smoothbore). The C3 features plenty of fire control systems standard on any modern mbt. It automatically calculates range, windage and has thermal, night, day displays integrated with AWE (Advanced Warfare Enviroment, shows all known enemy positions and their threat relative to the section of tanks).
It's most notable features is the automated reloading capable of firing off rounds from motor powered 5 round magazines at the same speed as a normal semi-automatic rifle. Because of how the rounds are stored, a Defiant can hold 25 more rounds then a MacArthur. The A4 (pictured), features an up-sized canon to a newer British 152mm with the same semi-auto feature, another 4 to 6 inches of armor and a mount for Crossbow launchers (or any other rocket/missile being used by the CAF or Bundeswehr such as Carl Gustav's or ERYX's) on the sides of the turret. The A4 could engage an American M2A4 MacArthur, a newer 4 the gen tank, and win.
Perhaps the greatest advantage of the semi-automatic canon is that it eliminates the need for a loader. This has numerous advantages. The C3 is 15% smaller then the older Leopard C2 while using a more powerful engine. This means a huge increase in the power/weight ratio. It also means more armour for the tank. Even better, the tank is almost a full meter shorter then the Leopard 2, and 1.5 meters shorter then the MacArthur and Lancer tanks. This means the fast moving Defiant is very hard to spot. When running on electric, the tank has no thermal signature, no infra red signature and has no engine noise. Making the C3 a true stealth tank great for quick flanking maneuvers.
The C3 is also very well armored and has soft kill anti-missile counter measures (MUSS 2) on the sides of the turret making it painfully hard to hit it with TOW missiles, Mavericks and Javelins. Still, normal tank rounds can get through. The A1 features standard reactive plates over a mix of thick steel armour, tungsten and long ceramic plates. The A4 has the M2A4's and Merkava MkVII's liquid steel plates on top of the normal ceramic armour, which makes the tank invulnerable to any Chinese or Russian armor defeating weapons.
The German public was very antsy about there role in the Persian Gulf. This meant that this tank can detect and disarm IED's and most landmines. All of this being automatic so the crew doesn't have to worry. The added under armor package that can be added at the cost of some mobility makes it invulnerable to most IED's and anti tank mines.
The C3 is used by Germany, Canada, the Neatherlands, Chilie, Brazil, Australia and the African States. The European Federation uses the French Joffre tank.
Oh, and Panzer means Tank in German. So calling a WW2 Panzer a Panzer Tank is like saying tank tank.
That was A LOT... going to be a while before I say that much again...

looks nice, but the turret looks a bit too blocky... I suggest you narrow it a bit, or was this your intention?

okay, yeah, I'd agree. Not sure if I intended to do that but it is a year old model, I'm not sure anymore.

I don't think so, especially since the KXS seeks its target. The tanks micro-rocket countermeasures would destroy the rounds in mid-air not to mention the heavily sloped armor in the front and thick armor on the sides make it really hard to destroy. The only weak spot is a direct shot to the back.

Well, think about this \. he KXS can turn off the computer for free fire, and, lets say, it takes 2 shots to get through the armor, (just making that up), well, the KXS has a seven round clip. So we fire three right after one another. Or, just unload a seven round clip into the back.

Yeah, how is a grenade launcher getting through that things armor? I Grenade is fragmentation, meaning it explodes on impact sending out metal shards. To get through a tanks armor you need HEAT rounds.

that would help and knowing how effective it is. Consider weight, size and power, then comeback.
