Description Dark explained what Unit 731 soldiers pack so here we go on Canada.

As we all know (I hope at least!), Red Skies is an alternate universe. Hence, after Canada accepted the Avro Arrow in the 1950's, they didn't turn back. The Canada of Red Skies has a military that strives to maintain a post WW2 super power status a lot harder then it does in reality. Hence, not only is the military structure different, but the Canadian military has kept closer to the US. Not that they are on par by the beginning on the NA War, but Canada is close enough. And, to make up for its weakness's, the Canadian Military trains at an equal level to the US Army Ranger.

The soldiers here are carrying some standard Canadian weaponry. C-15MBR, C8A1 and C-14 Timberwolf. Also here is the MWMIK Jackal (Emwimmick)

The Armor pictured here is the COFW armor that Canada used through the NA War and even long after WW3 20 years later. Unlike most post Second Gulf War and Afghanistan War designs, this armor is made for North America and Eastern Europe. It features a sweater, that insulates in cold weather and cools in hot weather that is also known as liquid armor. This first layer of protection saves you from most rounds (7.62mm and weaker). Over this armor is the hard armor similar to Scorpion and Dragon Skin armor. All of this is surrounded by a light Kevlar plate. The armor covers a soldiers center of mass (ribcage area) and then additional armor is added later when ever the soldier feels that the basic along with the "sweater" isn't enough.

The AWE Helmet: The AWE Helmet was designed by the same company that makes "Screens". It is really a SPECTRA base but made from a better material. This allows soldiers to be shot by some small arms in the head and only suffer a concussion. What really makes this helmet special is the basic attachments the builder provides. The helmet has a virtual target designation (the largest pictured soldier is using this) that can mark targets up to 2 kilometers away. This data links with the goggles that work similar to screens. All friendly units, whether they be tanks, jets or other soldiers, can see the red cross-hair on the enemy position. The goggles can also be attached with a computer on the rifle that makes an HUD similar to video games.

Light Armor: The light version (smaller and above) is similar to the Assault Version but with some small differences. For starters, some of the electronic package is missing and the Kevlar plate is missing. The light armor is made to carry two primary's (ie. a Sniper and a Rifle) along with a side arm. It also has a built in Bluetooth head set that connects with the radio. P.S. Yes this soldier happens to be a women but that's because I'm shallow. Still, I originally designed it with a male underneath. This armor is usually used by JTF2 and snipers.

Assault Armor: The Assault armor is the full package. Along with what the light armor has, this has equipment like battlefield computers, compass upgrades for the helmet HUD, a total round counter based on remaining magazines just to name a few. Soldiers often go with all the extra armor as well. Of course, unlike some American Units, this armor does not increase a soldiers physical output. Notable difference from the light variant, this is not made to carry two primary's.

woof, that was a lot!

Key part of that story being that it happened countless times, and the Canadians relied on there own mortars for most of them.

Hey, I'm sure the Americans had there own epic hill defenses with there BAR's and Garanad's... They just are known for doing it as well as there smaller allies. And I'm not saying Korea (there wouldn't be a South Korea today without the US) would have been easier without you, or WW2, but I'm saying you made more mistakes because you have more guys.

That's a JTF2 team in Red Skies

And this is a more General overview but focuses on AIRCOM pilots

Red Skies is actually by me so this is everything. It's a war between Canada and the US in the 2030's in a fictional universe. The war is called the NA War meaning the North American War.

2kilometers trumps the frame's 1km but then again the frame offers a level of detail to its scans that it would be like standing next the target and looking at it in the day. Plus the Frame can cover alot of ground quickly

Well, post WW2 Canada is usually late and forgot its lunch on tech.

in the alternate universe did avro's air car come to fruition od did it spin around in circles while hovering less then a foot off the ground. but in all honesty they can scan 2km but they can't hit like back like hades (ch4 seeing as you drew all three sides are you going to redo U731 and the spetsnaz

Ravajava In reply to DarkProxy [2010-07-16 21:10:30 +0000 UTC]

Avro car lol. I don't think they would have even tried if the Arrow was accepted like it was in RS. Still, I think I'll make a joke or two about that in the next episode .

I could re-draw Spetsnaz and Unit731, but metal-head14 is going to be drawing Dunn soon and the Spetsnaz pick is still relatively accurate. All the same, I probably will do that, once I have drawn a full color CF-205 for the first time.

actually the Arrow came out around the same (March 1958) time as the air car (April 1958) the air car was cancled in 65 unlike the arrow that was canceled a year later. Although the arrow was something else I can understand both sides opinions with its down fall.

The other side doesn't very much exist anymore, the people who cancelled it later found they made a big mistake. It's now considered almost a tragedy and taught that way in history class.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DarkProxy In reply to Ravajava [2010-07-16 23:18:32 +0000 UTC]

yeah but I meant the other side back then I can't believe incedent was in the history class. I mean the V-22 was nearly ass raped by Dick Cheny and no school teaches that. but at the time there were people in canada who thought developing weapons would make them a target for the USSR.

Ravajava In reply to metal-head14 [2010-07-16 03:25:09 +0000 UTC]

Umm, okay then. I've been informed otherwise that ForCon is different from normal Marines. They usually go ahead of the pack to get ambushed and bring that bad guys out for helicopters and artillery... But if you want em to be as badass as Navy SEALS okay!
