Description
Ironmastery Kite was used by both sides in small numbers in the Arcean Civil War. The first all metal fighter to enter service in the Third Empire, the plane was quite powerful for its time, but was also delicate and required more maintenance than could usually be offered. As such, opinions were often mixed, some believing the plane was too hard to fly and its guns too inaccurate. Others, like Republican Ace Corvus Mellori, viewed the Kite as the apex predator in the skies. Most replaced the wing mounted 20mm canons with rifle calibre machine guns due to ammo shortages, but Corvas stuck with the 20mm guns, which could shred most aircraft in a quick burst and cripple an airship under the correct conditions.Corvus, by the time of his death, amounted 135 kills as well as a couple of airships. His plane, the Bellona, was always dressed in yellow "x's" on the wings. Since then, all Arcean aircraft share the yellow x's, being both in the Civil War hero's honour as well as a good luck charm.
Anyways, just a quick sketch to get my mind off of things...

"The Great Tin Can In the Sky" was a popular drinking song at airfield bars of the time. Little did they know that all-metal aircraft would soon come to dominate the skies...
