Description

Here's a portrait of my interpretation of Scorpan from MLP:FiM. This is based on his description in the IDW comic "FIENDship is Magic". I incorporated different motifs of both Western and African influence, such as fennec and African wild dog furs and the pattern of the shirt's trimming. I used many traditional techniques for this portrait, like imitating impasto paint and using glazes. My favourite parts of this process were rendering out the metal, and the research I put into it. I've had this idea for about 4 years now, and I'm so proud that I feel confident now enough to execute it. I hope you all enjoy this finished product as much as I enjoyed creating it.
