Description
Here is my first completed oil painting, a portrait of the ancient Egyptian goddess Ammit (or Ammut, depends on who you ask!). I worked on this on and off for about of month. I tried to implement some traditional portrait painting techniques, like broader brushstrokes, and limiting the amount of fine detail. I used a palette of about 10 colours (I'll update this with the colours once I have time), so rather it's limited. I used multiple brushes of various shapes and sizes, and I have learned that I love working with filberts and rounds. This will probably be the last painting that I'll use pure turpentine in, as I recently restocked with Turpenoid instead.ΒI'm rambling, aren't I? I'll shut up now. XD Hope y'all like the painting.
Made with oils on watercolour paper primed with acrylic gesso.Β
Mediums were created with different mixtures of turpentine and linseed oil.
