Description
I made this as accurate as I could. It seems like a simple design, but as you get into it, it's amazing how detailed the original model was. The attention to detail (especially for the times) was pretty impressive. I suppose it's simple by today's standards, with advanced CG animation and texturing, but it's certainly still among the most recognizable and beloved of all sci-fi ships. My hat is off to Matt Jeffries for his impressive work on this classic design. It still holds up after all these years.

The other thing that is amazing about this ship is how many toys, replicas, models, and sets of blueprints exist out there that are absolutely wrong. Many seemingly reliable sources are contradictory with themselves and clearly inconsistent with the show. After all, there was only one main filming model, and it is still around to be measured, photographed, and scanned. With that reference available, I was really surprised by how much variation there was between reference material sources. It took quite a bit of searching to find reliable reference.
