Description
As a master criminal and information broker, the Penguin’s car is naturally equipped with a number of “special features:” Bullet-proof armor and glass, tire slashers, oil slicks, smokescreens, and maybe some hidden guns. The glass is tinted of course, to keep out prying eyes. It can’t keep up with the Batmobile, of course, but it has enough tricks to keep the GCPD off of his trail. Later, he can explain away his oil slicks and smokescreens by saying, “Well, officer, you know how old antique cars can be. . .”It’s the perfect car for the Penguin. Impressive, luxurious, and ostentatious. Ideal for the successful businessman or the aspiring mayoral candidate who enjoys the finer things in life. Plus, he has room in the back to enjoy champagne, to conduct business transactions, or to share the space with his curvaceous henchwomen.
It kind of makes me wonder what the Riddler’s car might look like. . .

Very stylish car. Love the art deco style lettering and striping on the doors. My kind of ride.

I agree! I think it would be fun if this vehicle became a recurring "signature vehicle" for the Penguin, making appearances in the comics, movies, video games, and TV series like "Gotham." Repeat use like that would help make it into an iconic collectible that fans could really get excited about. Each appearance could offer an opportunity to feature a new Penguin gadget or gimmick like: machine guns that fold out of the trunk, exploding penguin eggs that create a smoke-screen, oil slicks, arctic ice-slicks, extending penguin hood-ornament periscope, Penguin-drone, etc. In the comics or animated shows it might even do wacky things like going into the water, or submerging under the ice. I think having wacky villainous rivals to the Batmobile is a fun idea with lots of potential.

Thanks! I'd never built an antique car in CAD before. It was a surprisingly rewarding project to work on.

This is so cool! The penguin is one of my top three favorite characters in the DC Comics. I, too, wonder what kind of ideas you have in store for the Riddler as well. Great job.

Thanks so much for writing! So who are your other two favorite DC characters? As far as the Riddler's vehicle, I'm still giving that some thought. I want it to be fun and flashy, but I think it needs to be able to deliver riddles in some interesting different ways.

Well, my number one is Batman, since I literally grew up with him. My second is the Riddler because of his need for giving clues for every crime he commits. I totally agree with your basic concept of your "Riddler mobile". The Riddler would probably want something that catches the eye of the public while at the same time makes you think and ponder about it as well. I look forward to your concept design!
