Description Since I already had these models, I thought it might be fun to show them all together in scale.  I almost included the Galactica, the Cylon Base Star, and the Romulan Bird of Prey, but the sizes of these ships are still so hotly debated, I didn't want to step into that particular hornet's nest.  The contrast in scale between the Resurgent-Class and the Constitution-Class is pretty sobering.

I would love to see a MC80 in this chart, and maybe even a Lucrehulk. Out of curiosity, how big was Home One? Wookieepedia claims that a MC80 was typically 1,200 meters, but the actual length of other models could be up to 1,400 meters.

Hello:

Sorry to intrude but when I made my own model of Home One, I used the known pics of the model used in the movie, and considering the stolen Imperial Shuttle's size, it is impossible for Home one to be that small, my minimum calculated size is 2400 meters lenght. The other MC-80, like the Liberty can be 1200 meters.

I believe that Home One was 1,300 meters long, so that would be just a little bit longer than the MC75 shown here.

Thanks. Given its slender frame, would you say that it's overall mass would be the same as a Venator?

So imagine the imperial Dreadnought from "The Empire Strikes Back" to the left of this chart, next to the Resurgent, and a "A-Wing" on the right compared to the D7. Now think about the fact that a single A-Wing was able to bring down a Dreadnought just by crashing through the window.

Either there is a lot more to that story, or the Rebels should invest in a whole fleet of remotely piloted A-Wings.

OK, but, the Interdictor is 600 meters, not 1200.

Ravendeviant In reply to ColonialChrome [2020-01-28 02:35:04 +0000 UTC]

There is a lot of confusion about interdictors, largely due to the fact that there are several different (but similar) types of interdictors.

One of these types is the Immobilizer 418 cruiser.  You are correct in stating that this particular variant is 600 meters long.  This vessel was considered to be cutting edge in 14 BBY, but production was discontinued around 0 ABY.

A second kind of interdictor, was the Interdictor-class Cruiser, or Sith Interdictor.  This vessel was also 600 meters in length.

A third type of interdictor, however, is a vessel know as the Imperial Interdictor.  This vessel (as depicted in my illustration above) was considerably larger, at 1,129 meters long, as confirmed by Wookieepedia:     starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Inter…   and   starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Imper…    This larger vessel was prominently featured in several episodes of Star Wars Rebels.

There are still other types of interdictors, including full-sized Imperial Star Destroyers (1,600 meters) fitted with large gravity well projectors.

Yeah, the Rebels one is a production error.

Yes, you are correct, of course.  But the scale of the original Battlestar Galactica is still hotly debated by some.

Still puny compared to Vader's Super Star Destroyer the Executor at 19,000 meters vs Resurgent Class at 2,915.81 meters. That's 19 Kilometers vs 3km even longer then the Supremacy ....but not by much (Supremacy is far far far fatter/wider too making the Executor look tiny)

There's probably more left of the Supremacy, too.

But then, the Supremacy didn't faceplant a Death Star

Hello:

Very nice work with the scaling! It sure helps to get a proper idea of the size between one another... and the Resurgent class is indeed huuuge! .

About the Battlestar and Basestar, I myself gave them the size that would better fit with the scenes and my own models, so the Basestar is 1768 meters diameter and I gave the Battlestar 1000 meters of lenght, but those are just my suggestions

Personally, I enjoy looking way over there to the right, to see the tiny little Constitution class vessel next to all of those other behemoths!!!!!  Wow!  Kirk and company were brave souls to venture out into the galaxy in such "modest" vessels!

Yes, I get it.  I have personal solutions regarding the scales of the Galactica and Base Stars, that work for me as well.

Pics like this one put things in perspectuve indeed, and I agree they were very brave indeed (but I still think Palpatine and Tarkin were overcompensating for something though! ).

Awesome, because that is the same thing I did! I it works then that's the solution we need
