Hiding this in Scraps because I know there are those who haven't seen the movie and so, have not seen Eddy's brother. This is just a random marker drawing from a late, late, late night at AKA. There is no rhyme or reason to it. Just "midnight fun with markers".

Yes, well Eddy's brother is begging to be punched. XD
Even my brother and I [I'm the youngest sister] don't take rough-housing to that extreme. XD Allthough we do occasionally break something...like a plant. The worst thing broken so far was our window though. Never play high-speed catch with a baseball in a small living room. *laughs at the memory*

I think the rough-housing between Eddy and his brother is probably some kind of reflection of the parents raising them. There's a passage in the series bible that reads something like "Eddy's father constantly fears that Eddy will grow up to be... a figure skater." It seems like there’s likely a familial emphasis on "being tough", being a “man”…to mask what is actually a deeply ingrained fear of sensitivity. I’m not totally sure that Eddy’s brother really thought Double Dee was a girl or if he was taking a jab at Eddy’s sexuality… I wouldn’t doubt the latter. The way the dialogue was read, it seems like it could be either.
Anyway, what I’m saying is it feels like Eddy is an anomaly in his family… and perhaps its not much different than the way people condition pit bulls to fight each other--beat on them to make them “tough”. Its fortunate for Eddy that he’s had his sensitive side retained through something his brother never had: his friendships with two very sensitive people, Ed and Double Dee--Double Dee serving as his conscience more often than not throughout the series… which is why it was important to see Eddy “fight” Double Dee (his conscience) so it would actually mean something when he came to terms with it in the end.
Ok.. I had to stop myself there. XD Sadly, I could talk about this thing for hours.

O.o although Double D's hat from a distance cousld be mistaken for long black hair....from a distance.

It was supposed to be played as a joke about how almost every adult I talk to confesses that, when they first watched the show, they honestly thought Double Dee was supposed to be a girl. The only thing that sorta fudges that in the movie is the way its read, which, to me, sounds like the brother is just making fun of Eddy.

Me too.. XD I guess to the "casual" observer the high voice and the shorts (which could be mistaken for a skirt) might do it. Man, my own MOTHER was one of these people lol.
And eh.. use your imagination! XD Personally I'm glad it was never definitively revealed.

That's just too funny. I think the only person who though Edd was a girl at first was my Dad, but then he realized that the only girls were Sarah and Nazz.....and possible Jimmy.
