Description
........ BOOM!!!!!!!The result of two crosses let loose by me and Scythe both find their marks. I had hoped that mine would hit, but I didn't expect his to land, as well...
As I stood there, my left fist buried in Scythe's face, his right forcing part of my headgear inwards, the pain of the blow burns. I understood what had happened at that moment: the timing of the exchange- Scythe meant to beat me to the impact, using a technique that had become somewhat infamous- based on the principle of countering- intercepting an opponent's attack, to add the power of their own punch to one's own, creating a potentially devastating blow. I knew that they called this one, that had ended this exchange- the Cross Counter....
But as we stood rooted to the ring, neither of us had noticed that a sound had gone off at the moment of the impact- the bell had rung...
Yep, I decided to go with a splash page of the ol' cross counter. At first, I wasn't sure how to execute it, but once I thought to do from an above perspective. Afterwards, it was a matter of coordinating the hit zones, and drawing the rest around them. This was a fun one to do, really. Though as much as I'd love to color this and the other pages, soon, it'll have to wait until I can get some school needs sorted out.
I think this one has to be one of my favorite pages to do, regarding this match.
As usual, Scythe Mana belongs to me, and I belong to myself.

Simultaneous exchange! Dangerous but an effective tool if you've got the power!

And more so if you can connect he hit before the opponent.

Yeah... it hurts, though... but I don't think Scythe's going to like it, considering it's near that massive bruise of his..

*Thinking* what a hit- If it weren't for this headgear, odds it could have been a whole lot worse... Don't know if I can think the same for Scythe, that bruising must really smart, right now...

The bell rang when the punches connected, so the last round's over. What happens after will be on the next page.

We'll have to see. Pretty easy to miss when you have that fist colliding with your cheeks.

YES! The CROSS-COUNTER! First used against Rikishi, then became Joe's signature technique! NICE!

Thank you.
I wasn't sure what I was going to do for this point of the fight until I started considering the cross counter. It took a little work to get it started, but the results were worth it.

Unless your on the receiving end of it *thinking* ouch.......
It's been said one has to suffer for the sake of their art, but I never my case would involve a fist to the face.

True, but it's always the counter cross is always the best when you're the spectator watching.
