A redo of a previous map. Just didn't like the way the original sat with me.
Yes it’s ASB. No need to tell me (I appreciate the thought).
A more successful (read: quicker) Norwegian campaign, coupled with some very lucky battles in the North Sea which cripples Britain’s Home Fleet, allows for a more swift Western Campaign in France, including the creation of a Vichy France over all of France (as a puppet, like was created in 1942 OTL). The main difference in this timeline is that France’s fleets are all seized for the growing naval conflict against Britain and the butterfly effect from Norway leads to a disaster at Dunkirk, with a total of 210,000 Allied soldiers killed or captured. With the Kriegsmarine bolstered and Britain’s skies empty from Dunkirk’s lost manpower, Operation Sealion is approved for November 1940. As German forces march on Dover, the Brits retreat with a scorched earth policy, eventually ruining all industrial capacity in Britain. The Battle of Britain became British skies filled with Junker and Messerschmitt bombers. Britain capitulates after three months and Ireland goes turncoat after Germany’s offers compared to those of defeated Britain.
With Britain eventually subdued at the cost of German manpower, Axis puppets and allies sent their troops eastwards in anticipation for Operation Barbarossa. Barbarossa began on 18 March, 1941. Much like the French campaign, Barbarossa was split into two parts; firstly, bombing the living shit out of the Muscovites, secondly; send the troops in. Although the campaign officially ended in August, Soviet “terrorists” still exist today, terrorising the residents of Reichskommissariat Siberien. The Soviet government never signed a peace deal, technically meaning that the war continues at present day.
The first Amerika-Bomber was completed by Junker in June 1941, just in time for Pearl Harbour. The US is kept occupied as their East Coast is ruined by wave after wave of Amerika-Bomber and their soldiers are tied-up in an increasingly desperate Pacific Theatre. By September of 1941, the main portion of the Wehrmacht is advancing on the Caucasus and Middle East, securing the oilfields, while the Italians and Spanish help clean up the African colonies.
Japan’s campaigns were boosted by the acquisition of the V-2 and V-3 rocket plans from Germany. After the Pacific was finally secured at the Battle of New Scotland, Australia was the target for the trigger-happy Japanese. China was slowly but surely coming under Japanese control, while the Japanese propaganda machine went into overdrive, enticing unity between the Yamato and the Han. Thanks to a Japanese blitzkrieg in the Pacific, the idea of kamikaze pilots were left on the cutting room floor. Unwilling participants of the Co-Prosperity Sphere, like the Soviets, the Chinese, the South-East Asians, and the Australasians got a generous taste of rocket-fueled persuasion, while India was eventually scared into joining the Sphere.
The V-9, the first rocket capable of delivering a nuclear payload, was completed in February 1944, while Germany’s nuclear weapons program was still long behind. By now Eurasia was being consolidated, with new national boundaries being drawn up. Finland had been expanded as a gift for their “anti-Soviet” stance. Switzerland was no longer a country thanks to Hitler’s ego. The African Cleansing was beginning, while some Speerites back in Germania argued for the “negro race” to be included into the labour class for extra manpower. A Nazi-friendly government was setup in Saudi Arabia and Nigeria. South Africa fell into the German boat in the end (surprise surprise). The Union of Iberia was formed after an obviously suspicious coup led to a nationalist government in Portugal. Italy had finally been satisfied for its colonial demands. With all of East Africa, Transjordan, Oman, South Yemen, and Iraq under its possession. A neutral-turned-Axis-ally Turkey was given land in expanded at the expense of Syria, Iraq, and the Greco Islands, as Turkey’s rivalry with the Russkies gave them and the Nazis some common ground.
Against the wishes of Germany, Japan tried to emulate the German way of occupation by redrawing borders to create disunity among the Indus people. A defeated Australia and New Zealand had managed to ship away its troops to America as the Japanese invasion drew to an end. Already slated for Japanese colonization, most of Australia’s “convict-citizens” were sent away to work the Slavic grounds with their British brethren.
Economic domination in South America had almost been achieved, if it hadn’t been for those rocket-friendly Japs and their crazy territorial demands. Mexico, Cuba, Jamaica, Haiti, Dominica, Peru, and Chile had all succumb to Yamato colonial rule, while south Central America, the rest of the Caribbean, Ecuador and Colombia were roped into the Sphere before 1950. Single-party Brazil had now expanded to include Bolivia, Paraguay, and Uruguay as satellites. Argentina, Venezuela, and Guiana fell under the rule of German puppets.
In 1948, the Amerika-Bombers were still bombing, the Japanese Navy was still harassing the West Coast, and the Canadians were just shitting themselves. In June a double-invasion of Canada was launched, the Germans landing in New Brunswick and Quebec, and the Japs coming in from Vancouver and British Columbia (Alaska had fallen under the flag of the Rising Sun in 1944). As expected the combined armed strength of the leftovers of the Anglosphere meet the Axis forces out on the Canadian-US border. With the armies occupied, Germany surprised the world with the nuking of Washington D.C., New York, Richmond, Philadelphia, and Toronto, courtesy of the V-10 Atlantikbomb. The US surrender occurred on 19 August 1948, while the Canadians (really the rest of British High Command) vowed to keep fighting.
12 years on and the North American continent is a very different place from 1948. Canada is now split between Yamato territory in the west and a crazy and a resentful one-party Canada to the east. The United States of America was split into three sovereign less states. Their American neighbor was let off the hoof of a bit more, due to it’s massive size and the already-overstretched resources of the Axis. A pro-Nazi party quickly rose to power thanks to some “support” from Germania, and they were swiftly elected into office the next year, dominating the Senate and Congress. They have stayed in power ever since. Japan still wanted some of the American pie after the whole “Pacific theatre” thing. The WAJAZ (West American Joint Administration Zone) was setup over the states of California and Oregon, while Washington state was seceded to Japan’s Canadian territories. WAJAZ essential gives Japan economic and housing privileges over everyone else in the area.
If you a German or Yamato citizen, you live a life of ease. There isn’t even any trace of the war, just slave-built Autobahns and white-skinned fellows. The Nazi government is now and always will be a bureaucratic mess, but after Albert Speer’s “Reorganisation” back when he became Führer back in ’63 the situation has improved. New spaces are made available more regularly than any democracy would tolerate. Most families have five-plus children, and a new generation of people living under the Nazi leadership are growing up to become efficient little Albert Speers, all hitting their early twenties at the moment. Mainland Japan, Korea and Manchukuo have been completely Nipponised, and there is no sign of the Empire’s dark side to be seen, not even non-Yamato citizens. Australia has become a popular Japanese settlement and colony, with the Japanese population above three-and-a-half million and the caucasian population below 100,000.
