Hey guys!!

Okay, so I didn't get a chance to draw anything on Back To The Future Day because of studying (and I'm sad because there will never be another BTTF day), but I'm at least putting this up before the end of the week:

IT IS ASEXUALITY AWARENESS WEEK, YO

So I drew all my comic's characters who are on the asexual spectrum!

Okay, some people may be asking what the hell I'm talking about. Lemme explain:
(I am about to use the word 'sex' a lot, bear with me here)

Asexuality means feeling a lack of sexual attraction towards literally anyone. Asexuals (or aces for short) are not getting the urge to bang anyone, no matter their gender. That said, aces CAN feel romantic attraction (which is more of the intellectual "I wanna date you and bond with you and maybe kiss you and cuddle you like yeah we can do that") and can be heteroromantic, homoromantic, biromantic, panromantic, etc. Or they can be aromantic AND asexual, and feel no sexual or romantic attraction at all (fun fact: people on the aro spectrum can be heterosexual/homosexual/pansexual/bisexual etc, so the same sort of spectrum stuff I'm gonna talk about here applies to the aromantic spectrum. Unfortunately, I had no space to draw the characters on the aro spectrum who are not asexual).

Anyway, enough confusion, lemme do more explaining -

So there's asexuals, like me, who 100% don't get the urge to do the nasty (I'm not aromantic though)

Then there's demisexuals, who only feel sexual attraction to someone they have a strong bond to. Some of you may be saying "but that's everyone!" No it ain't. A heteroromantic heterosexual lady, for example, might see a hot dude and think "hey I'd tap that. And date him. Like damn son, you fine!". But she might not ACT on it until she knows him better.

A heteroromantic demisexual lady will just feel the romantic attraction if she thinks he's cool and aesthetically pleasing (pretty). She will only wanna 'tap dat' if they've known each other for a while. It's not abstinence - it's the literal desire not being there until then.

A demiromantic demisexual lady will not feel romantic or sexual attraction until she knows him better.

I just used the word 'sex' a lot in this post so far and this is making me uncomfortable.

Then there are grey-asexuals (grey-aces). They feel the bangle bang attraction, but very INFREQUENTLY.

The aro spectrum equivalent is grey-aromantic.

Anyway, here's the low down on these ace characters! (Note: a lot of these people's romantic orientations are spoilers, so I'll only mention a few)

The pink-haired elf princess Aralia is aromantic and asexual. The aromantic pride flag is by her left leg.

To her left is Loralai Kabrinovich and Klaus Igor-Finley.

Sherlock Holmes is the bloke with the pipe (I imagine him being demiromantic or aromantic, since he's mostly disinterested? Or sapioromantic, and attracted to intelligence?)

Nikola Tesla is to his right, and HP Lovecraft.

I'm the sparkly one in the sunglasses who is rocking out by the ace pride flag. Hi!

There is one grey-ace on this page - her name is Sabina, and she is the chick to the right of HP Lovecraft. Does she look familiar or similar to someone you've seen before? That's probably because her older brother is Sebastian - as in, the dude who forms one half of the criminal couple Jamie and Seb in my comic.

Then we have the demisexuals - the blue-haired person is the other half of the criminal couple, Jamie, a genderfluid crime boss (there's a gemderfluid pride flag to Jamie's right). Jamie is demiromantic and demisexual - the relationship they have with Sebbie was platonic for quite a while before they both developed romantic feelings for each other.

The brown-haired kid is Elliott Kembridzhe - he's a heteroromantic demisexual.

The blond boy in the demisexual group is Hector "Hopper" Leviathan.

Well, I hope that wasn't too confusing! The terms take some getting used to! If you have any polite, non-freaky questions, feel free to ask!

If you wanna bash asexuals and say they ain't real, that's literally why asexual awareness week exists, and I would kindly like you to get away from my comments section and contemplate your existence. Seriously. Don't be an ass. I ain't done anything to you.

Designs for my upcoming Victorian-esque, alternate history sci-fi comic, Thorns.

THORNS is a steampunk fantasy comic about rebellious teenagers in a world of time travellers, historical and literary figures, magic, mad scientists, and incompetent dictators.

The plot revolves around the Thorn siblings, their rag-tag group of friends, a group of eccentric Victorian historical and literary figures, a dictator's granddaughter, quirky detectives, warrior royals, cute criminals, and people capable of traversing the lengths of space and time.
