Description

I revealed the name of my comic the other day! It was in a deviation description for a short story I wrote as an introduction to the comic's world. Find it here: fav.me/d8yugwx  (Please check it out!   I need feedback)

So now you know what it's called "Thorns: Legend of the Clockwork Planet", or just "Thorns" for short), here's the logo! And the cast of protagonists!

Back Row: Frankie (the tall dude, son of Mary Shelley), Lizzie (the wispy ghost lady. Elizabeth the First).

Middle Row: Nikola Tesla, Leonardo Da Vinci (dude with the hat), Ada Byron of Lovelace, Mary Shelley, Declan Thorn, Howard P. Lovecraft (dude with the long coat and the book in his hand), HG Wells (moustache dude), Granville Woods, Anne Morgan.

Front Row: Alexandrina Victoria van Hanover (seated. She is Queen Victoria) Hector "Hopper" Leviathan (crouching), Angel R. Thorn, Raven V. Thorn, Princess Aralia Laolyle, Cody Kembridzhe (doing the weird "French girl" pose for no known reason. It is not necessarily part of his personality), Elliott Kembridzhe (standing), Dylan Kembridzhe (crouching)

Not Pictured: The Tesla Sisters, Quentin Wells-Wright, Dr Maria Kabrinovich, Dr Erick Kabrinovich, Lord Byron, Oscar Wilde, Blue Brookfield (not yet actually shown in any of my posts), Victor Frankenstein, Miss Li, any of the antagonists, minor characters, or characters not yet publically confirmed for the story.

What is Thorns basically about? Lemme just quote what I said about the world it's set in:

"[Thorns] is set in an alternate, pseudo-Victorian world where magic is real, and co-exists alongside Mad Science. A portion of this world's population are Historical Paradoxes (people from the history of our world (the Old World), currently consisting largely of Victorians, and their family tree that preceded them) and Literary Paradoxes (people, characters, and things from canonised literary works, i.e. Alice, Wendy Darling, Victor Frankenstein, John H Watson, Dr Henry Jekyll, et al)."

Enjoy!

Wow that's a lot of characters... that's so impressive that you'd draw that many characters in one picture! I imagine that took a lot of effort on your part... excellent as always, looking forward to more of your work! I see so much effort put into this as well... brilliant!

An excellent lineup!!! Can't wait! I read some of the intro too, but I need to go back to it because I was interrupted while reading it.

I did just read it (and had put off my morning glass of iced sweet tea and breakfast to do so) and I can sum it up: it was a lot of wibbly-wobbly-timey-wimey stuff. Lots of timey-wimey.

Awww, thanks for taking the time to read it!
But I hope it was good timey-wimey stuff, right?

Yes, excellent timey-wimey stuff! And doing the little intro was pretty smart. All that background info might be hard to portray in a comic. Are you typing your dialogue on the comic pages or are you neatly handwriting them? I can't wait to see the first page!

Yaaay!! Thank you! Yeah, I figured it would be hard to portray in a comic, so I figured "Why not write a story?"
I think I'm going to type it, but I'm just wondering what font to use. It's already handwritten on the actual pages though, so I know where the writing goes, but otherwise, I'm not sure what font to use, or whether I should write it more neatly with my graphics tablet pen in the digital editting
I can't wait to post the first page!

Hand writing it with a graphics pen would work, but so would typing. I think you'd just want a font that's easy to read even in small spaces. Comic Sans would work, but for some reason poor ole comic sans is frowned upon.

And i I can't wait to read the first page!

How can you draw this many characters on a page without messing up? I drew a mini comic once with Houdini, Kahlo, Dali, Shelly (Lobster), Cuddles (Python) and a spider and I managed to mess that up. I need to practice ;-;
HG Wells is a small moustache dude and Tesla is a tall moustache dude
Wait of there's literacy characters then that means Tom Sawyer (I nearly said Tom Jones) could appear and bug Twain, hooray! Well not really hooray but yay?
Maybe I should try to draw all the artists together in one picture. But I can't put Kahlo and Warhol in one picture because those two will probably start insulting and fighting again

I used MAGIC!!
Cuddles sounds like the best name for a Python. Because it cuddles people! To kill them
Where can I find le mini-comic?
Small moustache dudes and tall moustache dudes having adventures!!
Tom Sawyer can bug Twain and Victor Frankenstein can bug Mary Shelley and it will be FAB!
Kahlo will probably start hitting Diego if you try That might be fun. For anyone who isn't Diego.
