a whole month later
it's a building... the side of a building to be more precise... looking up, at the sky.

the clouds coming off the top make it almost look like a fast wind is blowing over the top and adds a hint of edge to the picture. very cool shot

this one makes me dizzy in a playful way
i love how you've changed perspective.. a very common perspective.. so that it is something completely unexpected
when i saw the thumbnail i had no idea it was a building and the sky
the title is very clever indeed

When I made this, I was interested in showing an everyday sight with a new perspective.
I guess I succeeded in that goal with at least one person
Thanks for your kind comment Marika.

This is incredible. I mean, I don't even know what it is (even though I have a good idea) but it is totally awesome.
It's a great angle, and I love the amount of sky you left in the shot.

This has a really interesting feeling to it. The building has an interesting texture to it... and because of the angle it feels like any second you could fall off the edge of the world or something, haha. Very neat.

nice shot but you should hav emade it more symmetrical, you can se the rightside is going down because of the corner there, you went for symmetry take it to perfection watch the details then, BUT i do like it very unusual, keep shooting and c ya around

Ravinss In reply to Incarlum [2005-07-27 06:38:20 +0000 UTC]
I guess you're right... it is a little nonsymmetrical.
I might try to fix it up in photoshop.
Thanks for your comment.

This shot is cool. At first I thought it loked like mist rising from the flat object but a closer look revel's it's the sky. Very intresting shot..

I see a landscape, the building has become the ground. I see solitude. I see empty benchs on a big, cold, futuristic park. Or I see a graveyard. The straight lines carries me to a place where I dont want to go, but I must go. Because I believe that behind the horizon line, where the sky falls, there's a better and warm place to live in.
Hope you dont mind my digressions

Thank you.

I think you may be right about all the negative space. The building itself is great, you captured very interesting patterns and you made a great abstract.
However my attention keeps getting drawn towards the sky, since it's such a huge part of the photo. This is a great photo, but I don't think you intended for the viewer to focus on the sky. I'm not sure how you could go about this...I don't know if you should crop, lower the sky's saturation, or what, but the sky really does overpower the photo.

Ravinss In reply to Malesherbez [2005-07-13 08:46:22 +0000 UTC]
Interesting.
When I look at it my eyes do wander over to the sky, but the bleakness of the sky just takes me back to the building. Though I see what you're saying about the sky being overpowering... that was one of my initial concerns, but I guess I've just gotten used to seeing it this way. I may try reducing the saturation though.
Thanks for the longer than usual comment, and the

This is an excellent image. I sat staring at it for ages tryingg to figure out whether that sky was real or photoshopped.
Great work

Thanks for your comments.
The sky is in fact real. Photoshop was used to crop off large chunks of the building to give the effect you see.

no way you left in too much sky, it sets the mood!
you'll be looking at the patterns anyways, no matter how much sky there is
i love the contrast, it's a very interesting shot!
keep it up

I guess you're right, after the blue sky you cant help but stare at the pattern below it.
Thanks for your comment.

this is really interesting. I love the sky, the blue is simply gorgeous. The parallel rows really gives this an interesting effect. it seems very uniform and sterile with the way the design is set up. its a really good contrast against the sky, which seems very calm and soothing. i think uve done a great job with this photo Keep it up

Thanks,
I was concerned that I may have left too much sky in there, and taken away the effect of the non-sky bits.
