Why isn't there a printing sub category for monotypes!? Hmmm... oh well. I'll call this a painting then, as it's what it most closely resembles. Please forgive and ignore the muted grayness of this photo, I didn't have very good lighting and I was using my brother's broken digital camera (the one with no LCD, lol). This work is based off the earlier male combative figure drawings and prints you've seen in my collection here at dA. I may do a series of larger oil paintings based on this same concept... really, it's just a good excuse to do some BIG figure paintings, hehe!Monotype category fixed, 21 Aug 2007 ~ Grayness fixed 2009.

A monotype is when you take printing ink and basically draw an image on your plate that can only be printed once... it's not a print that can be made again and again. A "monoprint" can be reprinted, but the lines are changed a bit from print to print. It's strange and funny, but interesting to do, hehe... Thanks for the compliments.

I've actually been working on images that have much more energetic lines... it can be tricky to make it "just right!" lol...
